This was a greatepisode , the chemistry was fantastic between Claire and jamie , the only downside was the story didn't really progress except the wedding really
If there was a 0 star i would gave it to this episode. Empty and boring episode. Very long adult scenes which doesn't make any sense.. 1h full hour of awkwardness. ZERO.
Ok, we all know the written word, and certainly Diana Gabaldon's, cannot be beaten. However, this episode is beautiful. Tender, loving, sweet. I have watched it three times now - love it 💕💕
This has to be my favourite episode from the first season so far. The wedding of Jamie and Claire was excellently handled, different from the book, but the flashback-style worked really well. The chemistry between Jamie and Claire was amazing and one could feel the sizzling in the air and Claire's blooming feeling for her new husband but also her feelings of guilt over her former-but-somehow-still husband Frank.
This may have been the longest hour that I've ever experienced watching a TV show before and all I could figure it's because this episode leaves the viewer in a perpetual state of extreme awkwardness throughout 90% of it. As a result, time moves similarly as if you were to place your hand on a hot stove for 51 minutes
I'm not exaggerating... I'm flabbergasted that the episode is only around 51 minutes, because it felt like 3-4 hours.

- TriviaJamie mentions his Aunt Jocasta while explaining his family tree. She is Colum and Dougal's other sister besides Jamie's mother. She is a supporting character in later novels and will appear in the show in a few years, possibly season/series 4.
- GoofsClaire tells Jamie she can't marry him because she doesn't know his real name. In The Garrison Commander (2014), Claire reads over the 'contract of marriage' where both her name and Jamie's full name is listed.
- Quotes
Jamie Fraser: [Referring to a recent conversation with Dougal] He said "You never want to let a woman see you too eager to please her. Gives her too much power."
Claire Randall: Really. And what did you have to say to that?
Jamie Fraser: I said I was completely under your power and happy to be there.
