I really like the vibe of Cold Pressed, with its throwback feel an image. At the same time as it feels familiar it's also very fresh as it's told through a lens we don't see often, the olive oil industry. You might think that olive oil is pretty innocent (I did), but not after watching this film. I guess it goes to show corruption can exist anywhere. I was also shocked to find out that things in this film were inspired by real life shenanigans in the olive oil industry. Anyways, for a well done gritty drama that will make you think every time you reach for the olive oil, Cold Pressed is your film.
Cold Pressed is an indie thriller about George Leggierie, the owner of a restaurant and an in-demand olive oil label. George's greed leads him to take a deal for his olive oil with a sinister businessman, unknowingly sinking George into a deal with a very dangerous mob-like underworld.
Cold Pressed is a gritty film that felt like a throwback to gangster thrillers from the past, right down to the 16mm film grain. The film does a great job of showing that any industry can succumb to greed and turn violent if there's enough money being thrown around. I did recall reading in the news about how some companies were busted for using fake extra virgin olive that was supposedly from Italy, so it was interesting to dive into a fictional story that deals with that. I'd also like to note that I was a big fan of Ted Harvey's performance in the lead role. I'd highly recommend Cold Pressed for anyone looking for a good indie thriller!

I loved the look and feel of this film from the moment it started. The story feels real and relevant but also fresh and with a twist. A great thriller film for fans of the genre!
Cold Pressed is a great indie thrill ride!! It's suspenseful and well done, is a bit of a throwback to gangster movies, but what surprised me the most was the setting of the story within an olive oil company. The performances are awesome and the direction is smart and cutting. I really enjoyed this and definitely recommend it to anyone who loves movies, it's fantastic! Bravo.
The world of Italian gangsters in the USA. However, these gangsters aren't running numbers or peddling drugs, but dealing in dodgy olive oil. Quite unexpected. It's just as absorbing as any crime drama, and the lesser known subject matter gives the genre a seriously refreshing twist. Recommended.
