Think I'm done.
This ep continues in the same poor vein as the first for this season. More sulking, moreinane walking/ridding with lots of exposition but no drama or development.
I thought Hemsworth the lesser would be the worse bit, but while he is no Caville, he isn't the worse bit.
The writing in particular is just so average, so predictable and lacking any feel or depth. It's like watching someone else playing a slow RPG with predictable next quest until they all meet up again.
I just don't care what is going, the new characters are mostly bland, poorly played and honestly hope they die.
Most of the performances are phoned in, even Jaskier lacks his usual vitality. Yenefer is the only one who seems to be trying, but the story line around doesn't help. She just another one of the three building a team but in a slow and boring way.
It took me 3 attempts to get through ep 1, while only 1 from this, I was mostly looking at my phone, not the show.
The only positive is the special effects are up a few notches but everything else, everything that made it interesting has been sacrificed. Did they change the writers, it feels they cut corners there in particular.
Honestly, not sure will keep wayching.

I give up
My expectations for Season 4 were very low. After a good Season 1 the quality had been sliding so the trajectory already didn't bode well for the series. Then we had Henry Cavill leaving, largely because of the writing. His performance and sheer presence were about the only things making The Witcher semi-watchable.
So we knew we were down to a shell of season - writing already a shambles, star of the show gone. Yet I gave this a chance. I figured, how bad can it be? Surely there will be something to keep us entertained.
Yet, despite these low expectations, I was still disappointed.
It's just so boring. The plot is an absolute mess - random, pointless. Character engagement is zero - characters are badly drawn and there's absolutely nobody to support. Liam Hemsworth does his best to try to fill Henry Cavill's shoes and does a decent job but it was always going to be impossible to replace Cavill.
So that's it, I'm out. I did my best to keep going but it was an impossible task.

Getting better
Despite all the dismay and public outcry, it's pretty much the same quality as before. This episode is an improvement on the first of this season. More interesting and introduces a beloved character from the book. Enough to keep me going 😁 not a fan of the Falka plotline but it doesn't look as bad as it was in the book yet (hope it keeps that way haha)
This Zena Reboot Sucks
What the hell? Horrible writing, worse acting and no point or plot. The production quality is seriously at Zena: The Warrior Princess level. They ruined a perfectly good IP. Liam isn't horrible but disappointing they just tried to replace Geralt instead of introducing a new Witcher. There seemed like room for good choices, they just didn't make them.
Simply lost
Honestly, I couldn't watch it without Henry Cavill. The soul of the show seems to have vanished with him. Everything-from the tone to the direction and even the background music-feels off. The world that once felt raw and immersive now looks artificial and disconnected. Cavill didn't just play Geralt; he was Geralt. Without him, it just doesn't feel like The Witcher anymore.
