Goofs

The First Pitch Insufficiency

The Big Bang Theory

Edit

Continuity

Bernadette's legs change position while she plays as a catcher when Howard is doing ball practice.

Factual errors

Bernadette wasn't holding the measuring tape straight. The way the measuring tape was let to sag adds another six inches to the actual measurement. The arc length of a similar problem of the length of a cable of a suspension bridge is a standard calculus problem most engineers know.
While in the gym setting up for Howard to practice for throwing out the first pitch, Bernadette states that a baseball pitcher's mound is 60 feet, six inches from home plate. The pitcher's mound is not 60 feet, 6 inches from home plate. The pitcher's mound is 51 feet, 6 inches from home plate. The pitcher's plate, or pitching rubber, is 60 feet, 6 inches from home plate.
Sheldon suggest that he and Amy go to Disneyland and "play hide and seek on Tom Sawyer's Island." In actuality, the section of the park he's referring to is officially called Tom Sawyer Island, without the possessive.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

Despite his lactose intolerance, Leonard's pub burger had cheese on it.

Many lactose intolerant people can eat small amounts of dairy products. In most cases, it merely gives them mild stomach upset or gas. It depends on the severity of the intolerance. In addition, cheddar, swiss and mozzarella - common cheeses put on burgers - are virtually lactose-free.

Revealing mistakes

At 2:52 in Kaley Cuoco looks right at the camera for a split second.

Character error

Sheldon says that the 13 American colonies got together and created the U.S. Constitution. The original 13 colonies created the Articles of Confederation, the first American constitution that lasted for about a dozen years. The 13 American states then created the U.S. Constitution, a distinction that the know-it-all Sheldon should have known.
When Sheldon gets bored at the stadium, he suggests going "across the street to Disneyland." While both Disneyland and Angel Stadium are in Anaheim, they are not across the street from each other: the stadium is about two miles away from the theme park.
Sheldon asked for one of Amy's french fries. It has been stated many times before that Sheldon is a germaphobic and wouldn't eat food from other people's plates.
In his speech at the stadium, Howard says he is a scientist and the pitch will be delivered by science. Howard is in fact an engineer, not a scientist, and the pitching machine is an engineering solution. Engineers use science to solve real-world problems. That distinction has been a cornerstone throughout the series and the very point of countless gags.
After Sheldon asks for one of Amy's fries, she asks for a bite of his burger, and he says no, because it has avocado on it, which she's allergic to. She had to have heard him order the burger, and would have known it had avocado, and never would have asked for a bite.
