Absurd Sensationalized Pseudo-Science. Garbage. Avoid if you have any self respect

This is not a science program. It is a wildly sensationalized pile of hysterical garbage. It is however, instructive in exactly one way: It does demonstrate how many supposedly credible scientists will whore themselves for TV exposure.

In this program, pretty much everything in the universe is about to destroy the earth any second or is evidence of alien invasion. It twists actual science into tabloid TV in the worst possible way. Shame on the producers.

If you like science and have any self respect, avoid this stinking pile of poop.

    Alien Invasion

The subject shown is thinking inside the box, not what can happen. An alien advanced civilization would not invade like Normandy, don't have to. Simply introduce a biological agent host specific by numerous methods, or maybe they already have.

Hokey, sensationalized, over dramatic but does present some interesting incidents

Thought I'd revisit as there wa a series I hadn't seen yet on tv. Bad decision. This show is the Kardashian of "science". No explanations still. Over the top hype still. A rubbish show not worth looking at under any circumstances. Old osted review follows. While this show seems to present some facts it is so hyped and sensationalized that it often comes across as hokey. While I love science, especially relating to space, and being entertained, I don't like being talked down to and treated like an idiot. Way over dramatic, sensationalized editing and presentation. Not a good advertisement for astronomy. Presenting the facts in an interesting and factual manner doesn't mean the show will be boring an uninteresting. Virtually every segment I have seen features a breathless announcer and/ or commentator saying, in carefully cut and edited dialogue, what seems to be an announcement that someone has died, aliens have been discovered and hidden or there has been a disaster of some kind. NOT ONCE has this related to the actual outcome. And "files"? I think not.

What if this, what if that.... SciFi nonsense....

What a waste of time! It wants to be real science, it tries to be science fiction with some real science mixed in, but it fails completely on all counts. As the seasons progressed, the stories got more and more absurd.

Don't waste your time. If you want to watch a show covering real science rather than pseudo-science garbage, look elsewhere.

    False explanations

Some of these so called explanations are obviously directed by nasa. Especially season 1 episode 6. How they can say a picture that shows a cylindrical object above the moon is a hammer thrown by an astronaut is absurd. The "conversation" they show between the astronauts is obviously staged. You can tell by the clarity of the camera work. On the moon's surface the video is a bit fuzzy but the conversation about throwing the hammer is clear. Come on nasa...how stupid do you think people are? These nasa explanations have turned me away from the show.
