The story also clearly tells the Life of Indian citizen under British rule. Also after the end British rule there is another type of British known as "Nadan British" . The one highlight is the Direction of this movie and also "BGM" plays an important role in this movie.. Everyone performance was excellent. .. OVERALL"A MUST WATCH MOVIE"..

I can safely say this one the best period movie in Lalayalam so far, thanks for Amal Neerad, the director for the effort put in. The casting is top, no complaints, superb performance from all. Lal, Fahad, Jayasurya, Jose... all did their part very well. Stunning visuals, the frames will remain in you for days. Again the magic touch of Amal Neerad. The back ground score well sync with the movie. As with most of Amal Neerad movies, the songs are exceptionally well, and photographed superb. Thanks for the new team of music director and singer. The film is already got enough appreciation from critiques and reviewers. Overall an excellent movie experience. I can safely recommend as a must watch.

If this ain't on your watchlist, you are missing out on a ton. Iyobinte Pusthakam is one of the finest crafted Malayalam movies in the industry's history. The film is a period drama set in a pre independence era focusing on the empires left after by the British after their occupation. This flick focuses on the titular character of Iyob (Lal) who takes upon the mantle of Patriarch of the tea exporting empire left by a former British businessman. The film takes its time in establishing its premises and characters. Cinematography and Direction is spot on. Casting is brilliant as Fahadh Faasil and Jayasurya gets into the shoes of their characters quite effortlessly and gives career defining performances. The 3 songs felt completely out of place . Aside this the movie is one of the finest you will watch in this genre.

I had no idea what the movie was about before I started watching it. But it captures your attention from the word go and doesn't let up till the end. Am truly amazed by each aspect of this movie. The cinematography of course is top notch ... The visuals in each frame and angle of camera is really unique. Every character was built and portrayed really well. The story had so many different layers n sub plots... I think the songs were unnecessary and ruined the pace if the film. I did however love the fact that there was no undue drama in the climax and there were no long drawn dialogs as is typical in most movies. Definitely one of the best Malayalam movies i have seen in a very long time. Kudos to the cast n crew!
