When Strange is trying to cure the king's madness he almost inaudibly speaks the same magic words as Merlin from Excalibur (1981), referred to in that movie as "The Charm of Making."

Goofs
Arabella Strange pins three medals on Jonathan Strange's coat.

One appears to be the Peninsular Cross which was only awarded to officers of the rank of Major or above who had already been awarded four Army Gold Medals.

The second appears to be the Military General Service Medal, only awarded to those who held military ranks

The third has the ribbon colours which resemble the Order of British India (First Class) which wasn't established until 1939.

Strange was "Magician-in-Ordinary" to the British Army, but held no military rank.
