Absolute Duo

(18+) This anime had some good episodes but it kind of got in its own way towards the end of the season. By favorite character was the deranged teacher "Ms. Bun Bun" she was pretty awesome! I think the writers did a good job of distinguishing her "real" self from her "fake" self. Lots of fan service in this series, which pushed it to 18+ in my book. I think one of my biggest complaints with this anime is that the male protagonist's shield was SO wimpy looking! The female protagonist's swords were awesome, so why couldn't he match her? Every time he summoned his shield I thought: "lame". I've seen worse academy/battling series for sure, and the twist at the opening ceremony in episode one was amazing! Wish they could have kept it that edgy throughout. Still, it's an OK anime to watch and I'll give it a mild recommendation.

Greate anime to watch when you want to relax and see something cool and laid back

Absolute Duo has it's moments, but falls short when compared to similar shows like Chivalry of a Failed Knight or even Asterisk War. It not having a season 2 didn't help it much, but still it lacked depth. Everything about it felt surface level, and I wish they didn't play it so safe. The characters all are missing real motivations and end up being rather forgettable. The abilities the characters have and the lore suffer from the same problems and I just didn't find it all that interesting. This show is decent enough, and if you really like the other 2 shows I mentioned you may end up liking these 12 episodes more than I did. Otherwise, I can't recommend Absolute Duo.
