"Showroom" is a compact, easy-to-watch movie that rests almost entirely on Diego Peretti, one of Argentina's most prominent actors of the past decades. The film starts with admirable clarity: it touches on desire, middle-class consumerism, and the tension between having and being happy. It is rooted in Argentina's post-1990s landscape, when high-rise buildings with amenities began to reshape upper-middle-class aspirations and became a defining symbol of urban comfort.

However, as the story moves toward the final act, it loses complexity-the plot becomes too straightforward, the ending arrives too quickly, and its emotional impact weakens.

The film ultimately fails to truly move the viewer. Beyond Peretti's strong performance, the supporting characters, especially the wife and daughter, are underdeveloped, and their late shift in worldview would have benefited from more time and depth. A few extra minutes could have given the film the weight and resonance it seems to be aiming for.

Finally, the film belongs to a moment when forced inclusivity and ideological messaging hadn't yet permeated local productions; it feels refreshingly free of those pressures.
