The film raises lots of questions it never answers, leaving viewers with an ending but few meaningful revelations. The real story should have begun at the point the point where this film stops, and that's a shame.
What a great documentary!
I'll have to dispute the reviews re: that there was no explanation why - there was indeed a very clear reason have a listen again to interview at the end. Considering Rob's resources I thought that the film was well done. Congratulations to Rob on the film and the healing of your family.

This is so relatable to me. I live in London Ont (used to live in Windsor) so this is all so close to home for me. I was adopted and really wanted to meet my biological mother.
My search wasn't as difficult because I always kept in touch with a half brother ( we dont have the same mother) but he had access to her number and whereabouts.
When I called her and then went to her place, it honestly felt so strange. Looking at this lady that I resembled but feeling so awkward because I didnt know her at all.
There were so many questions I wanted answered but could not bring myself to ask because her husband (not my bio dad) had just passed away and she was clearly depressed.
We just kept it light and enjoyed the few days we had together. Then once I left we never spoke again. This was very 20 years ago now. Strange!
I really liked Chris. He seemed like a real level-headed person, down to earth. Rob...seems like a hot-head.
I liked the boys' mom. She seems very kind and remorseful and authentic. She sure aged well. She is very beautiful. Clearly she had very poor coping skills and made poor choices when she was younger. There are many people who have gone "no contact" with their families for various reasons. She did what she had to do back then. Her parents did give off being very controlling and judgmental vibes....
Hopefully everyone can heal and move on and be happy.

As someone who has also had a dysfunctional relationship with my long deceased, disciplinarian mother; she would stop talking to me sometimes for a year or more... I found the film honest, sincere and heartfelt. Nobody won, but the family didn't loose as much as they would have if the first step hadn't been taken. Well done.
So bad. If you want to watch 1 hour and 30 minutes of someone else's family being interviewed this is for you. This couldn't have possibly won awards.
