Missing Mom

I rely on Amazon Prime to introduce overlooked, under-publicized, and generally, darn fascinating true crime documentaries. At the conclusion of "Missing Mom," I couldn't have cared less about the things that seem to bother other reviewers here.

In fact, I was so sure that this was not a documentary, but rather a found-footage film, that I came to IMDB to see if I was right. It's a documentary all right--and, dang, do I give credit to these two brothers for undertaking the mission that they did.

What surprised me wasn't the question asked of Rob at the end: "Do you think this might create some disturbances you didn't anticipate when you set out?" It didn't surprise me because the ending kind of reveals who the judgmental souls were. And *that*, of course, will cause disturbances.

God bless Rob and Chris, and their new life.

What a great documentary!

I'll have to dispute the reviews re: that there was no explanation why - there was indeed a very clear reason have a listen again to interview at the end. Considering Rob's resources I thought that the film was well done. Congratulations to Rob on the film and the healing of your family.

This is heartfelt personal journey. When Rob and his brother started it, they had no way of knowing the outcome. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack with clues scattered in places and people's memories. It's an emotional tale; it's a love story worth watching. I am grateful they shared it with me.

I think if this were a college project it wouldn't get a great grade. The film quality is poor, no lights used. Sure it's heartfelt. But it'd be better in a filmmaker's hand rather than this amature shakey cam, poor lighting, bad sound. It's really sad. A sad story.

The film raises lots of questions it never answers, leaving viewers with an ending but few meaningful revelations. The real story should have begun at the point the point where this film stops, and that's a shame.
