This movie started out with promise. I liked the first few minutes and was waiting with anticipation to see what came next. WOW! I was totally disappointed by how much minutes 5-25 sucked! That's when I gave up and couldn't take any more of it. How did a movie with a known actor and great potential suck so badly? Your guess is as good as mine. But, I think I'm being generous giving it 3 stars.
Cool idea for a monster. Some real cheese acting and bad set up story wise drag it down.
Bad editing, slow and not in a good way lazy music and a plot that spends to much time sweating the small stuff instead of being focused. average student film fare
I managed to make it an hour in before I switched it off. Some of the editing is abysmal, cheesy acting and a plodding story that feels like it's never going to end. There's a scene where the main guy is audibly talking but his mouth is perfectly still. One thing it is good for is the eye candy, but that's about as nice a thing I can say about this. Don't waste your time like I did.
Monochromatic in design tone and all other facets. Forced acting due to lack of story. (What was she accused of anyway?!). Humorless. The best scene was the last scene. Thats where the movie should have begun. It was the first time I noticed Ms Blanchett trying to act, but she had nothing to work with except motions towards notions, not anything solid. And my favorite...no back story to guide us about how to feel about Lydia? One might say this is the opposite of Babylon, an equally bad movie, but with richness in color, acting, character and textures. Tar? Its not very good. If they make a Tar II based on the last scene, propelling Lydia to have a personality, I might like that.
