Is it scary? No. The acting while the characters are are shallow, is still decent. The movie LOOKS very nice, I'm always a fan of "trapped" somewhere movies so it's got that going for it. The plot is as generic as it gets. I'd rather they'd just somehow been trapped inside (maybe like House on Haunted Hill) without ghosts. Or maybe even just toss in a psycho security guard...as cliche as that is as well, it would've been better.
If you just can't find anything else to watch, and just want something to kill time, you could do MUCH worse.
It's A+ looking with a C- script/concept.

Decent watch at best, probably won't watch again, and can't recommend unless it is for a Bad Movie Night.
I was so happy it wasn't the movie where they play flashlight in a graveyard and invite a ghost to play, but that momentum quickly faded.
It's like "As Above, So Below" and "Pitch Black" had a rather boring baby movie.
Don't get me wrong, the premise is good: girl is linked to a demon that hides in the dark, but can physically hunt down and rip people apart. Plenty of potential to hold up to either of the parents, and thank goodness they didn't do this as found footage.
With the merry band of idiots, I don't think I liked any of them as characters, to throw as fodder to a demon I was expecting to be excited about it getting them, but I just didn't care at all.
The effect work was amazingly good compared to the rest of the movie, so they definitely prioritized what they thought would be their pivotal moments on the spread sheet at least.
Honestly, go watch "As Above, So Below" and then "Pitch Black", then the rest of the "Riddick" series, then you can come back and watch this.

Dreadfully boring and overly dark (lighting wise) supernatural one by one film. Eric Roberts is advertised as starring in this but I didnt see him. He must of been the voice on the recorder.
Yes, the set-up and tropes are all cliches. Yes, some of the backstories given to flesh out the characters seem strained. And yes, it starts out slow, although the "What was that?" and "Did you see that?" moments seemed like promises of better things to come. No, the acting wasn't all horrible (several of the actors are professionals, although none of them boast A-list credentials, and most of them can act competently). There were moments when, listening to the dialogue between characters meant to establish histories and relationships, I was sorta reminded of the relationships between characters in 1980s slasher movies--while not examples of stellar screenwriting, the scripts of those flicks often strove to create some sense of sympathy for their characters, unlike many of today's low-budget concoctions. Nothing new (or really compelling) is offered, but it's hardly unwatchable, and a rather admirable effort.
OKAY. My wife and I watched the trailer and thought okay...looks decent. So we started watching the movie...during the credits, we saw that...oh, chew it back...it had Eric Roberts in the movie. Now, for those of you that don't know, when a movie has Eric Roberts in a movie, no matter if it's a major role...(Yeah, right...) or a small role...the movie is DOOMED. I'm sorry, this man is cursed. Say what you will...but it's true. As far as the movie is concerned, It started with a good group of ten...yes, TEN people! Talk about strength in numbers. NOT in this case. They dropped like flies. The acting sucked and it was a bore to watch. Entered a haunted building and couldn't get out. HOW ORIGIONAL. I'd avoid this one, folks. it's a waste of time. I'm just trying to help here. Peace.
