    Great BUT

The B plot in this episode is one of the worst in the entire series. Still, character development!

This was such a cute episode

I really liked the Dipper and Pacifica interactions they were adorable. Plus the main story was also really cool.

Tapping into Real World Socioeconomic Class Issues, on Both Sides

This was my favorite episode of the series so far. Pacifica is the token self-centered rich girl, but is tested on breaking that persona to save the day. The real world portrayal on the rich taking advantage of the working class, invalidating them socially while the latter asks the former to be human and keep up their end of the deal, is really beautifully depicted here. Also, the depiction of rich parents demanding their kids fall in line with their expectations, surrendering their autonomy begrudgingly to sustain a family's legacy, likewise reflects the pressures on the other side of the tracks. The depth in this one is good enough for it to be its own movie, and would get my vote for an Emmy. It actually made me a bit emotional.

One scene also seems like a reference to Evil Dead 2, and that's the cherry on top for me.

Dipper must aid Pacifica because weird stuff is happening at their annual Northwest estate party for the rich and privileged.

An amazing return episode with the great staples this series is now known for. Great humour, Dark themes with a good dose of horror, great visuals and a plot with actual depth and surprise.

Season 2 has mainly been about fleshing out the inhabitants of the town and less on the overall mystery of the mystery shack and the journals. I for one love this as most stories have been flawless in their execution.

Saying that, this might be one of the best ones yet with a great twist on our preconceived notion of Pacifica and her amazing growth coming outta this. It also gave us one of the best villains on the show (in a show filled with great villains) with the Northwest family and legacy (those paintings were incredible and ballsy).

Best joke: Get it', get it!
