    Well acted, but annoying story

Very likeable character gets himself into entirely unnecessary trouble. It's annoying because it was entirely avoidable and predictable. The trouble should have been really resolvable but nobody does the obvious thing or even ask the right questions because that would prevent the writers from telling the story they want to tell. Lazy, amateurish work!

    Worst episode

This is the first episode without a story, very boring and annoying. It's painful to watch. I think Nicole Kassell haven't seen any episodes before she directed this one.

    The dumbest episode

An absurd story. This episode almost turned me off from the whole series. Completely unnecessary story. My recommendation is to skip this episode - save yourself the disappointment.

    Wow ...Just Wow

One of the best 3 episodes in the series The Leftovers.. A very great episode. A wonderful ending for the character Matt. The acting of actor Christopher is very great. The end of the episode is very strong and dramatic.. Without a doubt, it is a wonderful episode. It deserves at least 9.4/10 and not 8.9/10.. It is a great injustice. For this great episode.

According to my understanding, the episode is based on what will happen in the next episodes in the series.. The series is building for very strong events with the beginning of the second season, and until this episode, I am excited to complete the second and third seasons.

    • Trivia
The episode's title refers to one translation of Luke 2:7: "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."
    • Goofs
The American flag that the park officer who lets Matt and Mary back into town is wearing on his uniform is mirrored.

American flag patches worn on the right shoulder of military uniforms are mirrored so the field of stars are facing forward. This is to give the same effect as if the soldier was carrying a flag on a pole while marching forward. This is per U.S. Army Regulation 670-1 since 2005. Non-military agencies generally will display the flag in the standard orientation on the right or left shoulder depending on the uniform.
