The Lost Boys

As episodes before the season ender (I almost always find them sub-par) this is a good one despite all the difficulties.

For one thing, the usual implied political and social commentary is not as obscene as it often is. Any implied commentary in this episode thread seems to be lament over various means used by terrorists including the use of children and the use of s-mines rather than implied criticism of the Establishment. There is also the usual theme of honoring those who serve faithfully and perhaps in an elevated degree here.

This is a very hard episode. We are coming off the suicide bomber death of a child in the previous episode. Investigation leads to another child. This one is followed closely as Gibbs tries to bring him back from radicalization. It leads to a horrific scene affecting that child. This was probably intended to be an emotional scene and it will be for many.

The climatic scene is very close to being as difficult for viewers and is followed up with an emotional ending.

These last scenes accomplish effectively what was undoubtedly intended by the writers. But I think many will find it exploitative in a negative way. I am undecided between those two ways of thinking.

I'm on the 4th... yes 4th to be continued episode. This is getting a bit ridiculous.

The whole mini-series based on 'The Calling' was amazing. I find that they all have good music choices, like Friction by Imagine Dragons to accompany and satisfy you with suspense. Just make sure to follow along or you may get confused.
