Tom Connolly (No. 11)

I don't know why this is episode is rated so highly. The best part of this episode is at the end when red and Liz meet up at the bench. This is a finale that focuses way to much on Liz and not enough of red. And why could they not have written more for James spader? This was a season finale. Compared to Berlin this doesn't leave a lasting impression as a finale. It does how ever lead into season 3 which is the best season. I don't understand why the writers chose to keep red out of a lot of the episode especially the climax with Tom Connelly. In Berlin is was the axact opposite. Red was front and center most of the episode especially once the fake Berlin is located. Season finale should have a lot of focus on Red. That's a rule I have for rating finales and also preimieres and also mid season finakes. And this season 2 finale falls short in the Red department. I didn't mind that it was red and Cooper confronting Connelly. But this is a season finale. red should have been there to.

Great final episode for the second season. Liz has been framed but the resolution must wait. The smug AG, Tom Connolly, decides that he can say or do anything. He is really despicable and she, unfortunately, loses patience. I wish the principles hadn't confronted him head on because it would have been wiser to work from the periphery. Some questions now. What will happen to Liz? What will Red do to solve the problem and exonerate his friends? Where is Tom off to and what is he up to? Will there be a kind of superforce working to bring a calm to the storm? I was ready to shelve this because Liz put her childhood experience ahead of the dangers to the world. But there's more, now that she knows the truth. Excellent.

Oh my Lord how many times are the writers going to have Agent Keen say the following lines; "Raymond, you were right." Or "Raymond, I need your help." It's getting utterly ridiculous and it's like a yo-yo all of season 2. Either have her finally trust Reddington or not trust him. These lines that are spoken take away so much of the storyline and it's irritating. It only reminds me of why I stopped looking at this show when it previously aired. Hopefully, season 3 will prove to have better writing when it comes to the character Agent Elizabeth Keen. While Red is focused on Elizabeth she's focused on finding out what happened to her mother and father and placing everyone around her in danger. The storylines to what transpired with Agent Cooper and his doctor, Agent Cooper and the director, Agent Cooper and Ressler, was well written.
