It still gets me..
I love Inside No9 but this has to be the standout episode. I can't exactly put my finger on what makes it so perfect, maybe it's the writing or maybe it's Sheridan Smith's natural acting skills. It could just be the song interwoven throughout the episode, who knows? This starts off as classic No9 then turns into something so much more. This first time I watched it I was mainly confused for the first 99% of the episode until it clicked into place at the end. The second time, even though I knew what was happening, I enjoyed it just as much for the brilliant piece of television it is. As I said, I don't know why it's so great, it just is and it gets me in the feels every time. If you only watch one episode of this brilliant series make it this one.
Always the Best
However many times you re-watch this episode the craftsmanship is exquisite. TV rarely delivers such a full experience in 30 minutes. Sheridan Smith is an actress who brings real pathos to each role she inhabits and the support cast work wonderfully. This is standout Television and has to rank as one of the finest episodes of a television series ever.
The best TV I've ever seen
This is without doubt the best piece of TV I have ever had the pleasure to watch.
Absolutely superbly written but Sheridan Smith is so amazing in this episode, the entire story keeps you on the edge of your seat and the ending left me speechless for ages - laughter at times but tears at the end.
If you enjoy TV you must watch this 30 minutes of pure brilliance!

Chilling, outstanding and perfect
The little show that could, the gift that keeps on giving, and all the other clichés you want.
This episode was by far the best half hour of television I have watched this year so far. A fantastic idea that pulls off and then some. Stunning performance by Sheridan Smith who (again) hooks you in with her seemingly effortless charm and talent, and the rest of the cast hold it together brilliantly.
I don't think I've used the "roller coaster ride" of emotions comparison quite so accurately. I was left so shaken after the gripping, suspenseful and heartbreaking story that I doubt I'll be able to shake off anytime soon. I expected the usual twisted, witty and quirky fun show we expect from the series; instead I got a firm tug (or a hard kick) on the heartstrings.
Also massive praises again to Reece Shearsmith & Steve Pemberton for their incredible writing skills goes without saying.
In short: Wow! I have no envy for the episode that has to follow this.

Blown away by this
Inside No.9 will forever be one of my favourite shows, but this episode rates not only as the best episode, but also one of the best thirty minutes of TV I've ever seen.
Even now when I watch it I am blown away by just how good it is, it's moving, powerful, somehow chilling and loaded with suspense, the ending had me in tears. If anyone doubted how good an actress Sheridan Smith is, then I urge them to watch this, her performance is beyond outstanding. Michelle Dotrice, Paul Copley and Tom Riley play their parts too.
You feel the torment of Christine as you watch her life spiral out of control, it's only at the very end that it makes sense and you realise her fate.
Never before did I think I'd hear the heavenly voice of Sarah Brightman on an episode of Inside No.9, but there it is, so appropriate.
This is incredible viewing. 10/10
