Chaotic, Confusing but well constructed, AMAZING!!

This has to be the most bizarre, but most engaging episode yet!. I was left questioning myself "what's happening" as there were so many clues that i had yet to find.

A large theme portrayed in this episode was reality, as i was left considering what scenes were real and what wasn't. Furthermore another theme was Demons, which also left me gripped wanting to find more as you go deeper into Elliot's mind.

The episode was evenly paced, and had some create music adding to the tension of this episode; which left me hanging on the edge of my seat. Angela and the F-society's character development was great, each character had their part and you slowly begin to get an insight into their lives.

We are still left to wonder if Mr.Robot is real, or whether half the time Elliot is tripping. But the overall surrealism of this episode is great. can't wait for the next one!

It makes more sense after season 4

As some people said below, this episode is the foreshadowing of the finale..

Thanks Sam Esmail for perfection, and to Ramo Malek for increadible performance throught the series..

Rated in the low 8s. Folks, you didn't get it, did you?

This show is blowing me away. Quintessentially one of the grittiest shows that I've ever seen on TV, and I've been around for a long time. And this specific episode. I'm thinking that those who rated this episode didn't really understand it, not the subtly of it. Low 8s? Why? My guess is that most individuals who rated it haven't really experienced much in the way of life, or contrarily, have spent too much of their lives focused on a LED screen a foot away from their faces.

But that's OK. I 'get' where the writers are coming from. The tapestry they weave with their story-lines is...brilliant. Minor flaws with the computer engineering plot-line, but taken as a whole, I can overlook those to appreciate the bigger picture. Great stuff. The Game Of Thrones use to be at the top of my list - it just got bumped down a notch by Mr Robot.

Right, so...this is a weird one. I remember watching this episode for the first time and...still being interested, but having absolutely no idea what nearly anything in Elliot's crazy withdrawal hallucinations was supposed to be conveying.

And to be fair to myself, I really do think that you would need to have watched the whole show to fully grasp what's going on in this sequence. Now that I have...holy crap, this episode is a masterclass in foreshadowing. However, I completely get it if anyone considers the whole withdrawal trip scene to be pointless on their first watch, and it does take up a considerable chunk of the episode.

All I can do without spoiling everything is assure you that it is anything but pointless, and anyway, I think it reveals just enough subtle little details about Elliot's character to feel like it isn't just there for foreshadowing reasons.

Sure, neither Darlene nor Angela's parts of the episode are as fascinating as Elliot's, but they are both necessary, interesting on their own, and don't feel like they kill the pace or make the episode boring. And anyway, writing something as fascinating for either Darlene or Angela when we haven't delved into their minds nearly as much as Elliot's would have been virtually impossible as far as I can tell.

If you don't get it upon first watch though, I get it. I'm not gonna come to your house with a pitchfork. Promise.

Edit: I've decided that, at least for a while, I'm not going to be writing reviews any more. For the sake of time, my mental and financial health, other things I want to be doing, etc, etc, you get the point. It could be for a short time, but I won't lie, it could be forever. Depends on how it goes, but I'll still be rating things so you can get mad when my opinions are wrong...just not in as much detail.

Out of place... Not. Yes. Not really.

When I first watched this episode, I was THIS close in dropping this show. I dont mind metaphors, imagery, all that figurative language we learned in Literature but this episode had too much. Yes, in retrospect, this episode makes sense. It makes sense when you're halfway into watching the 4 seasons, but as an early episode? It sucks. We dont know much about Elliot yet to care about him. What do I care about his house not knowing the significance of it? What do I care about his trauma when we dont know much about his history?

This episode, as-is, is OKAY. But placed in context relative to its placement on the season, it is bad. The illusions and dreams would have been better as a penultimate or a finale for Season 1. If you came here to see if you want to continue this show: continue. It is worth it, even with this tiny bump on the road.

Qwerty: Don't be shy now. You can come closer. Unsettling I know, your pet beta fish chatting you up. But time's money, Elliot.

Elliot: You need something? Your water, does it need changing?

Qwerty: When you live in a fishbowl, ain't no such thing as change. My entire life's been spent in this thing, my whole world's on your side table. I look around. Same shit, different day. The lighting, the furniture, even the sounds. Always the same. I'm on a loop. And it won't stop unless my life does. I'm exhausted with this world.

Elliot: What can I do? I wanna help.

Qwerty: I think it's pretty obvious. There's really only one thing you can do for a brother in a fish bowl.

      Elliot: What is it?

Qwerty: Move him to a god damn window!
