Stolen girl
Not sure why the reviews are average. It's a very good movie, based on true events. It's really pulled on the heart strings; the years not moving on for the grieving parent, but life continues for the stolen and their kidnapping parent.
There could have been more depth to the characters, but all in all I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and it's well worth watching.

Wish I hadn't bothered.
A sad little movie, with fairly sad acting.
Also sad that Kate Beckinsale, who needed no enhancement to her looks, has decided that her fading career would be re-energised by pumping her lips up into a permanent pout. She now just looks ridiculous. It hasn't improved her acting skills.
The plot is sound, the ending is a little different, the setting is questionable.
Not the worst I have ever seen but close.

Good movie
Hate to break it to the other reviewers, but Lebanon in the 90s and early 2000s did not look like the USA in the 1990s and early 2000s. If you're having trouble realizing when the movie actually takes place, look at the phones, the computer monitors, the CD players, the television sets. The movie isn't set in 2025. Also, lip injections are ALWAYS a bad idea.
Besides that, it's entertaining. Much better than The Thunderbolts.
10/10 is for Beckinsale, I'd give the movie a 7.5.

1 Star - Very Disappointing Production
The story of Stolen Girl is actually nice and has good suspense, but the execution is extremely disappointing. The movie clearly looks low-budget, with weak scenes and poor production quality.
This movie really hit my nerves. They claim it was filmed in Lebanon, yet nothing in the scenes even resembles Lebanon. The locations do not look like Beirut, nor do they reflect the real image of our country. If they wanted to represent Lebanon, they could have at least chosen proper places that show its true character and beauty, not random spots that look nothing like it.
Because of this, and despite the decent storyline, I can only give it one star.

Kate Beckinsale is Miscast As Usual
STOLEN GIRL I I With a reasonable premise, Stolen Girl could have taken its ideas to solid ground, but it moves incredibly quick and doesn't make sense to why the lead character is doing what she did. I mean the child is kidnapped then before you know it she's become someone kidnapping other kids from similar circumstances? Did we miss a few scenes? The original idea too disappears as the movie becomes a vigilante action film. James Kent loses control of it all very quickly and it doesn't add up to anything. Kate Beckinsale as usual is miscast and way too glamorous for the role.
Did you know
- TriviaIn the film, Matt Craven, who plays Kate Beckinsale's father, is only 16 years older than her in real life.
- GoofsThe opening scenes set in the US are obviously filmed in Europe, based on cars and road signs etc.
