    Will you fight?

The second episode of "Mr. Robot" is not as amazing as the first, and the flaws are more clearly seen, but is an enough good episode. We repeat the same mistakes as in the first episode: way too "smart" people that seem to live above everyone else. Sadly, it all becomes a little bit repetitive, as the story barely advances. Mr. Robot does an "offer you can't refuse" to Elliot and that's basically everything that happens. The cliffhanger from the pilot is dealt in a very childish way (let's come here, Elliot, I'm going to talk to you in private and show you a whole new world...). That Elliot seems to be able to say "no" to all the offers he is getting is the best part of all.

The other part of the episode, the "lonely vigilante", is quite lame. That Elliot is a great hacker seems obvious. But all the story and how is dealt with reeks of laziness. A "Sherlock hacker" deserves better.

    Rewatch, 8.8/10

Another great episode. Episode 1 was definitely better, but by 0.5. My favorite characters in this episode were Elliot, Shayla, and Darlene. I haven't said this yet, but basically, I am watching this show with my mom. So far, I am still wondering what she will think about episode 8. The only flaws I could find in this episode were the character development of Mr Robot, the change of music, and the 25% of corny comedy, but i don't honestly care to be honest. This episode was still great and should've definitely kept it's 8.7/10 rating. Again, it wasn't better than episode 1, but still was very very good.

    Steel Mountain, The Hacker's Dilemma.

We continue to explore the Eliot character and his affinity for women who shower in his place when he doesn't even know how they know where he lives....and also about his dog that 'shats' in his bed.

    Tell me something Eliot, are you a 1 or a 0 ???

Eliot ponders all his dislikes in life as he also sabotages his drug dealers' supplier. Getting him arrested. Putting his own supply in jeopardy to help his dealer get out of a jam was interesting for the character. +1 Star

ECorp wants to recruit him and he puts that idea to bed as well. +1 Star

    7/10.

A slower, but still solid, second episode

The pace slows somewhat for the second episode but it still remains a quality slice of television drama.

This is confident storytelling and I'm looking forward to seeing the direction this series takes.

The cast is remarkably good. The performances are all very satisfying and there's a quality feel to the whole production.

    The Stakes Go Up

Where the pilot presented Elliot with the chance to start a revolution by eliminating debt's stranglehold on the 99%, this episode shows the violent sacrifices Mr. Robot's fsociety is willing to make for their mission. Elliot's personal relationships also get darker and more complex as his dependency on morphine reaches a new level. One scene with his therapist came off as a little too presentational, but everything else this episode sets up made Elliot's world a lot more intense.

    • Trivia
Steel Mountain, the storage facility which contains Evil Corps tape backups, is a reference to Iron Mountain, a worldwide operating company which works in records management, information destruction and data backup and recovery services.
    • Goofs
Elliot exploits a vulnerability to get a copy of a server's password file and then runs a password cracker on it, but the password file he receives is shadowed (it does not include the encrypted password strings), so it is useless to a password cracker.
    • Quotes

Elliot: How do we know if we're in control? That we're not just making the best of what comes at us, and that's it? Trying to constantly pick between two shitty options? Like your two paintings in the waiting room. Or... Coke and Pepsi? McDonald's or Burger King? Hyundai or Honda? Hmm. It's all part of the same blur, right? Just out of focus enough. It's the illusion of choice. Half of us can't even pick our own... our cable, gas, electric. The water we drink, our health insurance. Even if we did, would it matter? You know, if our only option is Blue Cross or Blue Shield, what the fuck is the difference? In fact, aren't they... aren't they the same? No, man... our choices are prepaid for us, long time ago.
