Original [At the shooting range no cases are ejected from the rifles as they fire, and there are no cases on the stations or in front of the soldiers. Even though a case is ejected slightly forward from a rifle, there would be at least some right next to the soldiers. We only see a case being ejected as the shooters unload their rifles by pulling back the breech after the order to clear the weapons have been given. This would not have happened with a live round, as the gases from the gunpowder would have ejected the case when and the chamber would've been empty. All this reveals that blanks are being used in this scene.]

As it is a shooting range, live rounds wouldn't be used, live rounds are only used in live-fire exercises, which the shooting range is not.
