    Outstanding all the way around

This episode has one of the greatest character development scenes. Amazing writing makes an amazing show!

this episode broke me in the best and worst way.

    Title says it all.

Try finding then losing the deepest love you've ever expierenced.

    Then watch this episode.

You'll feel like zapping yourself like Rick.

When a Hive Mind Breaks Your Heart

Ep 3 offers a deep and unsettling look into Rick's character.

While the premise of him reuniting with a hive-mind ex-lover starts as a wild, party-filled spectacle, it quickly becomes a painful examination of his destructive habits and profound loneliness. The story's emotional weight is handled with shocking maturity, proving the show can be much more than just a sci-fi comedy.

The secondary plot with Beth and Jerry, confined to the garage with a strange monster, mirrors the main story's emotional core, forcing them to confront their own relationship's dysfunctions.

7.5/10: A potent, memorable episode that feels less like a fun adventure and more like a necessary psychological excavation. It's an effective but slightly heavy installment that still hits the mark.

The greatest Rick & Morty episode ever & the greates piece of fiction ever created

The episode shows how a smart scientist who has everything can be unhappy, but someone like Jerry who can do nothing and has nothing is much happier in life. Every time you watch this, you can interpret something new. This episode is so deep and has so many meanings it's crazy. When I saw this, I laid down and thought. What has any meaning in life? Whether life has any meaning at all. I doubted my own existence. This episode is one of the most underrated episodes I have ever seen and probally the greatest piece of fiction we will ever get. Pure peak. I love how Rick's character develops and the ending of this episode is probably one of the best and most profound endings in history. This episode is the only episode in history, along with a few Steins Gate episodes, that deserves a 10/10 on IMDb

    Pure peak.

    No, you're crying.

This show. This season. ..and probably this episode (although there are 3 or 4 others that complete for the title) had probably the biggest emotional impact on me in the last decade. It's 20 minutes of crazy fun, where you get to experience a new high sci-fi concept with the R&M twist on it, see a hive-mind acting as a boozed-up coed, a race war, a new arc that shows that the moral high road is not always white (but dirty gray, mostly), and an alien couples therapy session, where everything goes to $hit.

Then comes the last ~3 minutes, and without any spoilers, if you care a little bit about Rick, it will feel like a gut punch. Every time I re-watch this episode, that particular scene gets more and more heart-wrenching. The music. The concept. Jerry with his lawnmower as comic relief.

Harmon and Roiland overdid themselves here.

    • Trivia
During the scene where Rick is watching TV and ordering Unity to adjust the story, the show he is watching is Community, another of Dan Harmon's creations. When you see the characters they all look like the actual characters of the show, and the story Rick is creating are real plots and happenings on the show Community.

Blim Blam: Um, first of all, hello. Uh, my name is Blim Blam the Korblok. Second of all, cards on the table, I'm a murderer that eats babies, and I came to this planet to eat babies. However, I am also carrying a highly infectious disease that I suppose you could call "Space-AIDS" as you put it. And Rick did chain me up so that he could attempt to cure it. At the same time, Rick's motivation to cure my disease was not to save my life or anyone else's, but to patent and sell the cure for billions of Blemflarcks. But you know the reason why I ripped my chains out of the wall? And do you know why I'm never coming back to this planet? Because the two of you are the FUCKING WORST! You both hate yourselves and each other, and the idea that it has anything to do with Rick is laughable. I'd laugh, but I'm biologically incapable - that's how alien I am. And even I'm sitting here listening to the two of you and being like, "What the fuck?" So, good luck with your shitty marriage, and tell Rick I'm sorry he has to deal with either of you. Blim Blam out!
