When it comes to crime thriller genre I am a tough judge to please. When I came across this tittle with the Indian actress Elisha Kriis playing the character of a con artist, Erica Tate, I wasn't sure what I was getting into.
To my surprise I honestly did like the movie. It's no nonsense screenplay kept me engaged till the very end. I did come across couple cliches but they didn't bother since the movie didn't linger too much on its faults.
The most endearing part of the film was Elisha's performance as a con artist. It was so easy to go wrong given the storyline but she kept it realistic, simple and believable. Ellie Patrikios as Lauren Haley, William Mark McCullough as Deputy Mike, Ricardo Berdini as Tom and Danny Arroyo as Purcell gave a well rounded performance as well. The movie was well shot and beautiful island imagery was pleasing to the eye. Refreshing and fun to watch.
Thank you Olson Brothers for making a movie where a woman can actually unapologetically do everything that leading men in the Hollywood movies have been doing for 50 + years and letting her get away with it. Finally!!!!! Erica character (Elisha Kriss) is that of a thief but she steals only from cheating scum bags. Does that make it ok? No.....Maybe. I don't know. I can't pin point what exactly what made me actually root for Erica...but may be it was the fact that she wasn't all black or white. She was just normal, real and in a weird way relatable. Love her bond with her reluctant confidante Lauren (Ellie Patrikios). The character of Tom (Ricardo Berdini) was super cute and Barry Piacente did a good job in playing the creepy jaded stalker. Mike played by William Mark McCulluogh (American Made) is an actor class apart! Well made movie. Worth a watch.
The main character Erica was mesmerizing and watching her carry the film and looking at her exotic face and dark eyes a delight, you can tell she had fun doing in what she was doing.
The acting of all characters had a lot to be desired and had the wrong rhythm. The script kept the movie going with its unforseen plot turns and the background had too much clouded days and the coloring of the movie was too bleak but just decent enough for a TV movie. The couple that directed this movie deserve a second chance as they were real close too a cinematic hit, and I have never seen another film of them before. Rod Spence needs to keep writing as is doing. The failure lay entirely in the unconvincing acting.

At first I thought it was going to be silly but watched it with my friends and WE LOVED it!! The new girl Elisha Kriis who played Erica Tate did a marvelous job. The two together were the perfect hint of sweet and spicy for a contemporary thriller like this. It was engaging, lively and thoroughly entertaining.
Sometimes all you want to do is sit back, relax and watch bunch of good looking peeps do something interesting . That was my expectation going in but to my surprise I was actually intrigued and invested in the story. Especially the Erica Tate character played by actress Elisha Kriss who by the way was a joy to watch. Erica was funny, witty, silly, eccentric, tough, vulnerable, loving, cautious, reckless, shrewd all at the same time. Impressive !
