How is this episode not reviewed as a top 5 all time episode?! 9.2 is too low in my opinion! The intensity of this episode has to seen to be believed. Me and my wife were so glued to the TV it's not even funny. Every moment had us on the edge of our seats! It was almost everything you would want in an episode of a television show..not much cheery moments but that was the point of the episode. It's a brutal start to an entire redirection of the show. I saw this entire 60 mins as a complete and devastating wake up call for the group. And they would never be the same.
When a show is making you yell "NOOOOOO" at the screen, it's obviously making an emotional impact. I was very sad to see ___ and especially __ go but I feel this was also done for us to absolutely despise the villain of Negan. This episode was so emotionally detrimental to the group and the viewers that we are still picking up the pieces. This episode will for sure go down in Walking Dead history as one of the best! Excellent work 10/10.

I am sad and absolutely stunned. This is exactly what the walking Dead needed. Finally is there something at stake, finally the group off survivors we have been following in all these years looses. It's tv that just sucked you in immediately when the episode starts to the end that actually almost made me cry and it's really rare that I actually gets emotional I'm watching a tv show. I cant put a finger on anything in this episode, is just phenomenal television, but be warned this episode is so brutal and violent that most people would probably turn it off. But I absolutely loved it one word masterpiece.
I really liked the series up to the middle of 6th season, when things started to slow down a little... as if creators had run out of ideas (even though they follow the original comics, they follow them loosely at ends). But moments after Negan's introduction in the season 6 finale, I got really excited again - anybody familiar with the comics knows, how bad ass this guy is. Seeing the premiere today, I was really shocked by the brutality of what happens. You get to find out who Negan's (or better yet, Lucille's) victim becomes and what happens after that. I loved the episode - it captured the violent, scary, gruesome atmosphere perfectly. Too much violence perhaps, for my taste, actually. All the actors play their roles great, with Rick topping them all. That's all I'm about to say - the wait is over, results are here, watch the episode and prepare to be shocked.
This left me breathless, empty.. yeah just devolved of any emotions, cause I used up every tear and feeling in this episode! There is nothing that can prepare you for this! No matter how much you know.. you are never truely ready!
This was in a brilliant way.. the most uncomfortable experience i have had in a while! This actually made me feel uncomfortable, cause I saw a level of mercyless brutality i never thought I would ever see!
You were either panicking or left in a state of anxiety.. until you had to time to breathe and comprehense.. and then comes the tears, and oh boy did they flow!
That last dinner-scene, broke me, cause I saw that perfect future we will never get!
This was Walking Dead at its PEAK!!

As a huge fan of The Walking Dead, my excitement for the newest villain, Negan, and who he chose to "Lucille" was the highest it's been for any television show I've seen. This episode certainly lived up to my expectations. The sheer brutality and tension was palpable throughout the entire runtime. Step aside Game of Thrones' "The Rains of Castamere". While the Red Wedding was shocking, it didn't hold a candle to The Walking Dead 7x01.

- TriviaThe name of this episode refers to a line spoken by Dr. Jenner in TS-19 (2010) when Jenner traps Rick and the others in the control room of the C.D.C. After finally freeing Rick and the others and giving them a chance to live, Jenner tells Rick that "there's your chance," to which Rick replies that he's "grateful." Jenner then counters that "the day will come when you won't be." The horrific events of this episode are what Jenner was referring to.
- GoofsNegan wipes the bloody ax on Rick's jacket (right shoulder) while they are in the RV. In the following scenes, the blood is not on his jacket.
