    Immensely impressive

Considering the small budget of only $2 million, and the record-breaking crowdfunding, the production values in this feature debut are absolutely astounding. It's an example of incredible passion and commitment and proof of immense talent.

    Unsettling

Had no idea what the movie would be about so my expectations were none, but I was pleasantly surprised!

The love story falls a bit flat, and so does some of the acting (tragically mainly by the main characters), but for me the movie wasn't about the love story, but about how Sweden would handle a disaster. I'm not pro military, so I was surprised of how invested I was in the plot, and how uneasy and scared I felt watching this. I also think it really captures that realistic essence and atmosphere which I think Hollywood movies almost always lack. Since I don't know much about the military though, I can't speak for how much was ACTUALLY realistic in actions etc.

The soundtrack was not memorable in melody, but enhanced the movie experience a lot! It reminded me of the Interstellar soundtrack that I think is amazing.

The CGI is amazing. I never questioned it and didn't even reflect on it until I read the reviews here.

In short: great film that really targets that unsettling-nerve.

Nicely shot, great action sequences and cost <$100,000 USD to shoot

This is an interesting film and the quality of the cinematography is truly amazing considering it was largely paid for by Crowd-funding and cost under $100,000 USD! This film would have cost tens of millions in Hollywood.

My only negative is that it's a picture that uses the strange plot device of making the protagonist someone you WANT to love but they do nothing but stupid, selfish and nasty things to everyone around them. Both good and bad people. Their delusional belief is that the whole world is against them but all they've ever done is help people and love people. You just want to smack them in their mouth over and over again because it's completely obvious they care for nobody and nothing more than themselves. Even the children of people they've loved their entire lives. Leaving the kid to fend for herself as the world implodes around them. Closing the door of a shelter on a hundred people simply because they're scared. Even though there's no immediate danger and you could have saved EVERYONE if you held the door for 2 minutes tops. Like the Titanic sinking where the lifeboats recovered were all launched less than half full. Leaving hundreds to die that could easily have survived.

It's a trend I've noticed and really don't like in streaming movies to use this television series plot device where you keep the viewer angry and hoping that their favorite or the primary character will eventually do the right thing. Kind of like when every week you get disappointed that the male and female leads should obviously be together, but it never quite happens (like Big Bang Theory or the much older Moonlighting, starring Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd).

I'm sure somewhere they did the research and determined this new stylized plot device causes viewers to engage more deeply despite their feelings of disappointment and anger. But it reeeeaally pi$$es me off and takes away from the storyline. I end up thinking about all the people in my own life who are just as selfish and stupid. And leave the film disappointed and angry.

Overall, I'd still give it a 6/10 rating. If someone knows what this type of plot device is called, please reply to this review. It feels like dramatic and situational irony coupled with verisimilitude and other devices. But I can't find this type of plot and character development defined anywhere. I'm sure I just don't know what to look for.

Worth the watching time though. Enjoy. 🤓

    Ummm.

A bit disjointed. Too sentimental. Too drawn out (cut the first thirty minutes and the last thirty minutes, and you wouldn't miss much). No real sympathetic characters. Implausible premise. But it was exciting to watch.

    Great first half

I absolutely loved the first part of the movie, it was captivating and beautiful. An interesting mix of genres. Had it continued the same way I would have rated it a 10. Unfortunately the last part is not so great. Still worth a watch in my opinion.
