    Whoa

I actually kind of loved this one. I don't understand any of the negative reviews here.

I genuinely felt bad for Zeb and his past he is just opening up about. I wasn't sure where this episode was gonna end up going, but the last half bumped it up from averageish to wonderful. I think the writers did an excellent job expanding on some of the lord of Star Wars (possibly even the Force) and they didn't have to explain it or bore the viewer with details. I love Zeb a lot more than I did going in. He deserves this episode.

I also want to say the music is beautiful, particularly in the last act.

I'm not sure how I feel about this iteration of Hondo. Great, great episode otherwise.

    Wow

The visuals and the music in this episode are insane, especially in one scene toward the end. The story is decent and Hondo is pretty fun. I don't know why there are many negative reviews, its better than the average Rebels episode.

    Zeb and Flow

This is a fun episode. Lots of mystical magic and stuff. They don't try too hard to explain.

    Legends of the Lasat

So, I love the character of Zeb, but I didn't know how little I cared about his race and origins until I watched this episode. I didn't feel any real connection to these refugees, and by the end of the episode, I still couldn't tell anyone what their purpose was. I didn't feel like Zeb had any real development through the episode, except in connection to things that happened throughout this episode alone. I am still not that big on this version of Hondo, as I think he is more of a bumbling idiot than a pirate captain, which he also is, but it isn't as charming as they think it is. I did love the visual appeal of this episode, and I think they achieved some things that aren't easily achieved in animation. That is what really held this episode up for me, and why I ultimately ended up enjoying it. I don't think I need to know anything more about his race, mostly because I simply don't really care. I like Zeb, I like the crew, and I like a lot of the visuals in this episode, but for the most part, I would definitely rank this as among the weaker in the series, mostly because of its lacking storyline and it failing to progress the story in a more interesting manner.

    Oh Captain, My Captain Zeb

This is my first time through Rebels, and this episode really sneaked up on me. By the time we reach the climactic scene that many have mentioned, I was completely engrossed and found myself teary eyed. It was the perfect blend of character, story, visuals, and score. I want to find that track. I want that backdrop painting.

Diving into Zeb's history for the first time this episode gives him much-needed depth and reminded me of learning about Worf's Klingon culture in TNG.

I'm looking forward to finishing Rebels before Ahsoka airs. It's been an amazing ride so far, and I've heard the best is yet to come.

    • Trivia
Chava uses the expression 'By the Ashla', referring to the spirit of the galaxy, or another name for the Force. Ashla was the name given to the light side of the Force in George Lucas earliest drafts of Star Wars while 'Bogan' referred to the dark side. Also, Ahsoka Tano was named Ashla during early development of the Clone Wars series.

Zeb Orrelios: As captain of the Honor Guard, I was responsible for the protection of the Royal Family, and every single Lasat! Their safety was my duty.

Ezra Bridger: You couldn't have stopped the Empire.

Zeb Orrelios: I fought to the end! We held the palace, and then... there was a bomb. I woke up, it was all just-gone. We retreated, I was as good as dead. At least until Kanan found me. *Karabast*.

Ezra Bridger: I can't imagine. I lost my parents but-you must have lost everyone. But a-at least you're alive, and-and you've got a chance to help your people again.

Zeb Orrelios: They called me captain. I don't deserve to be *called* that! I failed my people that day.
