Trivia
Family is a big theme in this episode. As Nomi is giving a beautiful and moving maid of honor speech for her sister at the rehearsal dinner, she says the lines, "What family actually means..." which is also the title to the episode.

Goofs
When Agent Bendix barges into the wedding to arrest Nomi he is confronted by Nomi's father who asks to see the arrest warrant. When he was unable to produce it, Bendix leaves the church without Nomi. In reality police can arrest anyone they reasonably suspect has committed a crime.
