A modern mythology, worth watching
For those reading reviews in order to ascertain if the movie is worth watching, I'd say yes... absolutely. Sure, it's possible that you'll have criticism of certain unnecessary plot twists, cliche's and loose ends... but make your own mind up. Watch for yourself. It's most probably better than the alternative you have lined up.
Even if it may not be a perfect 10, there's a lot to get out of it... especially if you haven't read the book.

Great actors help this complex teaching to get through in our busy lives.
Life deals us many lessons - problem is we don't learn them. This film gets through at many levels. It even has unexpected plot twists . Mostly it was an important lesson about what we choose to value and how we lose the people we need to love fully and without judgement. A deep film with wonderful actors. Great actors help this complex teaching to get through in our busy lives, especially the lead, the DreamSeller. I understand the book is great - I would guess that the translation into English has lost some of the power of the language and the lesson.
The acting is great. I loved the child actors coming from both wealth and privilege to children on the street with no one to care for them.
Yet, both the wealthy child and the poor child just wants and needs, a loving parent. These child actors help this complex teaching to get through in our busy lives.

Life changing movie
Everyone should watch this amazing movie, especially top corporate executives who have lost touch with their basic humanity which they have surrendered to delusion of money, and start treating their employees like people and not like disposable numbers. This movie will go over most people's heads as we have grown up in a shallow material world which has warped our thoughts, but if you still have some connection to your true self, then this movie will bring it out in you. Great acting, great content, great, great writing and subject matter. This is the best movie I have seen in a long, long time. If your idea of a great movie involves tons of car chases then this movie isn't for you.
Ignore the Negative Reviews
The messages in this film are even more relevant today than when the film was released. Consumerism and materialism are not important as we've been led to believe. The covid lockdowns and mandatory restrictions are opening people's eyes to what is really important and this film illustrates it perfectly. The acting is excellent and César Troncosco, who plays Mellon, is SUPERB. Thank you for making this poignant movie.
Please don't base your decision on the movie's rating.
This is a true gem; it teaches you how to overlook the trivial things in life and wreck your own life; it's all about finding that coma and writing the story you want to live.
