Depiction of Social Issues with Elitist Humor

Punjab Nahi Jaungi (PNJ) one of the best movies ever produced in the history of Pakistan's Film Industry. The movie is not only a source of fun and pleasure but also an indicator to social problems like alcohol consumption, post marital relationships, gender equality and divorce. Apart from this, the character of Bebo Gi, perfectly promotes support for love, for language and for nationalism. However, Mehtab Khagga, the elder of the family, grandfather of Fawad Khagga, is encouraging women empowerment in the country, for a better Pakistan.

With humor and love, PNJ brings to limelight the social issues and shows inevitability to eradicate social evils.

      Simply Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!

MEIN PUNJAB NAHIN JAON GEE…………. (8.0/10)

is not one of those usual romantic films. The clash of cultures, the widening gap between parents and kids, MPNJG tackles it all. At the same time, it evokes some serious feelings at vital points in the story. The movie from its first scene till end is a sure cinematic beauty , as for as camera work is concerned. A top notch cinematography captures a outclass beauty of PUNJAB. Story on the front look seems to be a light comedy but underneath the skin of comics some real story unfolds explaining some very serious issue of our culture in a light but also in a serious manner. The story is about HS and MH, where HS is a typical feudal lord of Punjab while MH , cousin is a western oriented girl comes from London after completing her study. Two distinct cultures having their own flavors come together with a twist. Entry of Wasay in the movie makes story interesting . Apart of great camera work , dialogues also stands out, some serious lines along with some taunting comics really creates a nice combo for any movie goer. After JPNA , Humayun Saeed along with the director Nadeem Baig has done another marvelous job. Both of them needs a pat on their backs. Good music , nice story and a serious message definitely makes MPNJG one of the finest movies from south Asia. From acting everyone delivers a great performance. HS does really proves his acting skills , MH well really a great actor she is, Hurwa Hoccane also plays her role very well, Azfar Rehman (Wasay ) is also very decent, all the supporting cast are simply brilliant. Ahmed Ali Butt I think was underutilized. Some great nice dialogues, a serious underpinning message wrapped in a comedy makes MPNJG definitely highly recommended movie to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go and watch this movie to HELP our cinema!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Good One But Unrealistic and Overrated

The scene after the comic "Help Me Durdana" where Mehwish Hayat with her dialogue delivery and top notch acting outshines everyone is the only scene which stands out for a film which everyone was bragging about but Punjab Nahi Jaungi comes with a somewhat already seen story but the same cannot be said for its dialogues where Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar once again redefines himself that he probably is one of the best drama writers but his craft is weak when it comes to unrealistic sequences and really illogical ending.

When it comes to acting you cannot decide who stands out in the film because each and every actor has given his/her full to their characters. Mehwish Hayat simply outhines but the star is Urwa...

      A very good film

Hmm. Definitely a very good movie. I would give this movie a 7.9/10. It got my interest right from the beginning. The ending was very good tho. Overall despite its flaws, the goods of the movie overweigh the bads. The VISUALS were amazing. That is actually what kept me hooked. Coming to the negatives, sometimes, the reasons behind the issues between bride and groom feel a bit overstretched or should I say, not properly given exposition. What I did not like the most is the blaming of and the way CHAUDHRY are represented is not good. In reality, they are not like this. If the same went for let's say May Karachi Nahi Jaon Gi and they explicitly mentioned in the movie about MAHAJAR dada ji, papa ji, and their son. It would feel a bit racial. Hence I would say that when making movies like these, the families or especially there names should be fictional. And that's all, looking forward to The legend of Maula Jut now more than ever XD.

Too Much Hype Lead to Disappointment

Acting is Superb as Legendary Pakistani Actors have been chosen for the Film (8/10). Screen Play and Background Places are fascinating and attractive(9/10).Good camera work (7/10). Music is Good (6.5/10) but the choreography and dance are poor (5/10) apart from one last rocking song (7.5/10).

A story is a backbone of the movie. Khalil ur Rehman Qamar is one of the best and few writers I like. However, the story of the movie is a sheer disappointment for an extraordinary writer (4/10). The story looks haphazard and without logic and flow.

Too many comedy actors but dialogues are not meeting the comedy standards of Legends like Sohail Ahmed, Saba Qamar, Waseem Abbas, Behroz Sabazwari, and Ahmed Ali But (4/10). I think the writer could take help from these legends to improve the comic sense of the movie.

The writer opened many fronts but fails to fill the logic and Gap. For example, following questions needs an explanation. 1. What is Durdana's end result? 2. What did become of Dairy Farm? 3. Why the Ch. Fawad likes to be beaten by Waseh? 4. Why Amal agree to reconcile at the end?

Overall, Punjab Nahin Jaongi is an average movie (55~60/100)
