I was so hesitant at first to watch this, since I didn't like the style of animation and I'm getting tired of high school romances. Besides, I'm pretty new to the BL genre and I'm still nor really sure if that's my thing.
After the first 10 minutes, i considered to stop watching it since the plot seemed over exaggerated and rushed. Well, I'm so glad I stuck with it because in the following 50 minutes it completely redeemed itself. This anime does a truly wonderful job in showing the difficulties such a young romance may face, and in particular gives us insight into the characters inner thoughts and worries. Every decision they take seems completely reasonable, as such the conflicts that arise are realistic and justifiable. Even though this story only has 60 minutes to draw you in, I've seldomly been this emotionally attached to a relationship between 2 characters and I truly wish there was a sequel.
I don't think there's anything I could write that would do this anime justice and convey how good it is. Please just watch is, it's wonderful.
This is one of the best Shounen Ai movie I have ever watched (and probably my first ever review on IMDb). I am a Living Fujoshi and I have watched/Read many ShounenAi/BL/YAOI Anime and Manga. But this one stands out the most. This is a story of how two high school boys innocently fall in love with each other. The movie covers only the first volume of the series, but it is enough to appease my fujoshi heart (left 3 chapters that are irrelevant, anyway). This Movie got me grinning from ear to ear the whole time. I encourage you to read the manga as well. There is Part/Volume 1 up to Chapter 9 and Part/Volume 2 up to chapter 12.
I do not remember a ton about this movie as I watched it in 8th grade but it is very sweet and lovely and a lot less fetishizy than some mlm anime tends to be. The animation is very lovely and the art style is unique and pretty too and I remember liking this movie quite a lot!!
This was so disappointing for me. I was so excited to finally see this movie and it was kind of dull. The start was very cute but the whole thing feels like vignette loosely put together. I would have preferred more of a build up to their feelings. I didn't even understand why they liked each other at the start, it just seemed like "oh we have sang together 3 times, let's date because I love you with all my heart marry me". It was very sudden.
I think if we spent more time seeing why Kusakebe was so infatuated with Sajo. I wanted to feel why they fell for each other and why they meant so much to each other.
Sometimes I think because we are starved of this type of content we will forgive flaws but I just see so much story here that we never got.

Characters that exist beyond their relationship and don't need desperately to get laid nor someone to complete themselves, very interesting design and transitions between chapters, with well placed metaphors. These are, for me, the great technical features of the anime - even though the story isn't that unique, it doesn't make the experience of watching it any worse.
