Surprise - a decent but unknown film
No action etc, this is a film about a woman coming to terms with her past through the experiences on a road trip with her unpleasant friend and some characters she meets on the way. Genuine laughs and some good movie attributes. I was most pleased to guess her favourite dinosaur correctly. Can't really justify an 8 or above as this is getting into seriously good cinema territory but this is a whole jump ahead of Hallmark etc.
Slow Moving, Obnoxious Characters
There is very little to like about this movie. The writing is schmaltzy and the story movies slowly. The character of Vera was bad enough to tolerate, but when you throw in the village idiot, Noah, whose acting was unrelentingly bad and grating, you have the recipe for a movie that constantly leaves you wishing for it to come to a merciful end.
Swell is real life and deeply moving.
Swell is a breath of fresh air, a movie that engages you, gets inside you, pulls at your heart, and makes you laugh and cry. Just like life. There's nothing more captivating than a story that opens painful childhood memories and stops you emotionally dead in your tracks, and then puts you in uncomfortable relationships with loving friends who walk with you until you overcome and find resolution and peace. The storyline is so well written and the acting so genuine (Bernsen, Spiro, Wittman), you won't pause it once. Unlike many movies that grip you, but leave you feeling unsettled when it's over, Swell leaves you feeling deeply affected but somehow content and satisfied. But now I've done it-told you all about the movie! I would have given Swell 11 stars but the limit is 10.
Women will like it ....Men will not!
Seems like a woman will like this type of film that explores and analyses the feelings. Guys could probably care less. Myself not into psychology of feelings displayed on the big screen. Poor acting other than Dinosaur Boy and dialog was kinda out there in nowheresvillie. Most interactions between main characters seems stressed and unbelievable. Waste of time for me.

- GoofsPrehistoric Gardens is south of Port Orford. They stop in Port Orford for lunch and to stop for the night. When they travel the next day they are going north as indicated by the ocean being on the left, thus are going away from the attraction.
