Wasn't quite sure what to expect when I streamed the film but ended up loving it. Clearly done on a small budget, but the filmmaker still adeptly manages to create a deeply cool and unique futuristic setting. The story touches on lots of interesting and relevant themes, from corporate power to to income inequality. Great acting too. Highly recommend!
This was done on a very small budget, and not bad, but something bugged me. The people volunteer to become these drones? Nah, that makes no sense, especially after we see those girls making fun of and harassing one of them.
They could have come up with an incentive, free money or housing or something for their family, or made it an evil plot to do it to people unaware, etc...

Cyberpunk stylee, noir, surrealism, dystopian. Nice commentary on a certain virus; which just happened to happen naturally, near some lab somewhere. Transhumanism, as people are made less human, to perform certain tasks. The pencil-necked, pretty-boy, styled hair, nineties looking guys, add to the surrealism. Seen on Tubi, the free streaming site; which has some unusual finds, among some real trash.
Wooden acting a result of bad writing and stultifying direction; vacuous and somnolent affect masquerading as deep themes. Relentlessly unmotivated plot and dialogue. Wish I could say something positive.
I'd seen Bret Lada in Misty Button and figured I'd check this out. The pacing was slow at times but overall I really liked it. Definitely worth the watch.
