weird mix of bad comedy and softcore porn
Based on the first episode, submission seems to want to bring porn to something like the old MTV series Undressed. So basically you have some sort of "comic" exchange between characters, and then there's some nudity, and then some more "comedy."
The series is competently filmed and acted, but the writing fails to make any of it interesting. As for the porn, well, it's kind of unsexy. Like the dialogue, it feels like it's just there because they decided to make a porn comedy and thus they are contractually required to have some sex and have some banter.
For what it's worth the creator of this series writes and directs hardcore porn and in that field she's won a number of awards.

action, not conclusive enough
I do find this opportunity to give a smattering of that other world of Bd/Sm public viewing, a chance for adults to relax and perhaps reminisce; although lack of full nudity (Americanism)was a minus, the story has its merit's The actors fit their roles very well, the half hour segments were not long enough, plus repeats of the previous showing were, I thought too much, Has there been any S/m shown; Hardly, the bondage is a little lack luster, Skin Diamond was a diamond in the rough!! Finding Ashley is a gem also.. The Master(Dom) relationship also needed some more thought than that which I saw in the four episodes.
Looking for a bit more kink in your soft core?
Looking for a bit more kink in your soft core? Well, here it is.
While there is regular softcore straight sex, the whole point of this series was to get into some BDSM content and ride the 50 Shades wave.
They have a couple of surprising relationship twists, but mainly a woman coming off the breakup of an unsatisfying relationship with a bad boyfriend moves in with a friend in a small town ... needing a job.
She finds a book called "Slave" in the house, and though she denies it to her friend and housemate, it turns her on in a big way.
THEN, she discovers the male author of the book lives in town and is in the social circle. Have some patience. It takes into episode four before those two "get together", but it's worth the wait.

Porn with a story... failed to be a tv series with steamy scenes
So... How is 'Submission' better than the Fifty Shades series? The series co-creator, Jacky St. James said that It (Fifty Shades of Grey) made it seem like it (BDSM) was for people that were messed up or dark and it's not at all. In my opinion, Elliott is more cunning and messed up than Grey. 'Submission' gives the impression that this kind of sexual practice is not for people with a dark past but for tricksters and womanizers. Additionally and more importantly, it nuances that hierarchical relationship in the bedroom is extended to the whole relationship. The dominant, Elliott, is violent, coercive and selfish in daily life as well, and in many cases this is not true. Main characters' acting is sub-par and even annoying. It's funny that regular or day-to-day scenes are worse than sex scenes.
The scenes and story line are great. the way women want scenes
I love the movie. it seems that the reason behind the plot is that she wanted to create a better version compared to 50 shades of Grey. The series co-creator, Jacky St. James, mentioned that she was unhappy with the way BDSM was portrayed in Fifty Shades of Grey, which she considers "passed off an abusive relationship as an honest interpretation of the BDSM lifestyle". She hoped to create a more nuanced view of the BDSM world with the series. The lead actress Ashlynn Yennie also echoed the creator's sentiment saying, "Fifty Shades of Grey was not a correct portrayal of the type of sex that people practice. It made it seem like it was for people that were messed up or dark and it's not at all." She hoped that the show "can shatter that glass ceiling of false belief and show the world what it truly means to trust, communicate, and finally feel free to talk about what you want and don't want sexually in a consensual and healthy way." Well she got it. I agree it is better then 50 shades of Grey. wished there were more episodes though.

- TriviaAshlynn Yennie wrote an article for the Daily Beast in July 2017 about starring in this series. In it, she revealed that she was hesitant about taking the role. Not because of the nudity, which she had no issue with, but because she didn't know if she could play a submissive and represent the BDSM culture correctly since she knew nothing about it. But she accepted it because she loves being challenged and stretching outside her comfort zone.
