If you're lucky enough to not have seen any spoilers about this film, if you know nothing about Apollo 18, you enjoy documentaries, and you think this is just another NASA or Apollo documentary, I highly recommend that you STOP READING REVIEWS and watch it! This film was meant to be one of those that you walk into without expectations and completely unspoiled.
If the story is already spoiled for you, I'm sad for you. You'll probably only enjoy this 0-50% as much as it was intended. Those who rate it low are likely in the group that already had the main story spoiled for them. They're part of the population for whom this is NOT intended.
Because this whole movie is FICTION, it serves only to confuse those interested in the Apollo program. People don't often do their own research, and those that don't could believe this story.
It only serves as a stunt to fool a viewer who either lacks the existing knowledge or the curiosity and intellectual fortitude to research. In both cases, it ceases to be entertaining.
It IS well-acted and is executed in a very convincing manner-making it all-the-more dangerous a weapon of misinformation in an age where it rampant.
I knew there was no Apollo 18 mission so I was curious what they were doing with this movie. It seemed to be mostly a series of boring interviews of unattractive people telling stories written by third rate hack writers which were not funny, not interesting and not even factual.
A documentary about a REAL Apollo mission with interviews of ordinary people who knew real historical details would have been a lot better.
Or an exciting movie like the fictional "Apollo 18" movie with the rock monsters.
This movie appears to have been very low budget.
It's worse than a waste of time. You might absorb a fake story about a real astronaut that some no-talent hack writer made up.
Don't waste your time or risk polluting your memory with this garbage.
