The overall aesthetic is a bit baffling, both high budget but with Battelstar, it still looks low budget sometimes? It's very weird. And then the entire arc of the season is overwritten at parts.
What I found compelling was the contrast and disillusionment between modern day and market crash 20s of America. Paired with the generational gap between supers parents and children, it actually is pretty interesting when it focuses on that stuff.
The problem for me is that as soon as it sets the themes up, it then plateaus for a while, going into a backstory that again, feels overwritten. It begins as interesting and then after a while you want things to clip along and they really don't. Pacing annunciates plot beat problems.
Overall, I find it more interesting than The Boys, as far as alternate supers stories go. Not as good as Watchmen. But not bad either. 7 feels pretty right for it. Seems like they haven't got that good a grasp on it but it's compelling when things go right. Whether they stumbled on the 'right', I guess we'll see - if there's another season.

I think this show is great and has a lot of potential. I'm so bummed to hear Netflix isn't bringing it back.
Hopefully it'll reboot in the future!

Yes, Jupiter's legacy is not perfect, it has a few flaws, but overall is a pretty decent series and really entertaining, the narrative with flashbacks was really well done, it keeps you interested in knowing "what happened?" between the past and the current time.
It has it flaws, of course, a little too much exposition sometimes, and of course as any superhero movie/series it makes no sense at times, but I really enjoyed it and I see crappy superhero projects getting a lot of seasons while this one didn't.
I don't know what happened, but I want my season 2.

Come on Netflix, this is recurring trend...please stop cancelling after 1 season!! This was a good show and there is plenty of crap you can cancel and nobody would care.
I actually enjoyed Jupiter's Legacy and was disappointed it was cancelled after only one season. I never read the comics so I can't compare the two but even if I did I wouldn't care the the two are different. I'll never understand why people don't like shows or movies because they are different from the source material, just enjoy them for what they. If it's entertaining enough then who cares if it's different? I binged the entire first season over the course of a weekend and think if more people would've gave this a chance they would've liked it. Josh Duhamel was the best part of the show and does a great job as the lead. If you're a fan of superhero movies/shows and haven't seen this yet then give it a chance. I think you'll enjoy it.
