Sword Art Online Abridged

SAO was very enjoyable stuff and though it's quality has dipped and I think they squandered the concept it's been fun so far. Bingeing everything SAO related I came across this and didn't realize it was a fan based parody.

13 episodes in length it's essentially a redubbed and remixed compacted version of the show with over the top backwards and in places dark humor. And I have to say for the most part it's absolutely hilarious.

Seeing the characters in scenes you're familiar with suddenly discussing questionable topics and screaming profanities at each other officially split my sides.

This is something that will appeal to everyone who appreciates a crude dark sense of humor regardless of their opinions of anime. In many ways it lovably mocks the whole genre as well as splashing you with well thought out social commentary.

It takes quite a bit to have me laughing out loud but Abridged managed it through a combination of silliness and jokes that had me both cringing and laughing at the same time.

However there is always a flipside, there are only 13 episodes and the parody only goes up to the first episode of SAO's season 2! Therefore sadly this hilarity is incomplete and that breaks my heart.

Regardless this is incredibly funny stuff and I firmly recommend it.

This parody is simply spectacular. Honestly, the only reason you should watch the original is to see how much better this is than it.

Sword art online abridged takes the dry and long buildup of the original and makes the content related and also how they dont change the main keys of the story, but include their own bits plus comedy which is what won me over after I saw the first episode. If you like sword art online like I do then this is very much worth checking out. Give something witty entertainment a like if you view the videos

This parody took the bland disappointment of the original and turns it into a better show, with characters with actual depth, a likable and interesting protagonist and amazing humor that isn't just picking on the bad parts of SAO. It feels like it's own original show, as if it's just SAO but better. If you were a fan of the original, you'll love this and even if you didn't like the original, you'd still love this. It's free on YouTube and I can't recommend enough that you should check out this amazing parody and support the creators.

I actually enjoyed the original series, but this absolutely surpasses it. Jokes aren't over done, the voice acting is consistently amazing and I love hearing actors from Yugioh and Dragonball abridged popping in too. I'd honestly put this as the best anime abridged I've seen.
