What a horribly paced and horrible acted pile of garbage. AVOID!

I try so hard to give movies the benefit of the doubt, I really do. But movies like these just test my patience by failing in almost every possible regard. Everything from the grade school script and amateur directorial style, to the stulted and hilarious "acting" and poor pacing make this movie an absolute chore to get through. But what exactly happened?

Not a single person involved in this stopped to ask themselves, "Is this movie actually good?" or "Is what we are making entertaining?". I bet not a single person in that production company could be certain of the answers to either of those questions. So of course we end up with such an anemic script, such poor pacing, and such laughable acting. It's like there was no quality control.

The movie wasn't scary for the first hour or so, and then it was a bit entertaining and then it ended. It was a horror movie for a solid 10 minutes and then it was over. The rest was filler, decent gore that was hidden by poor angles, and a lot of fake blood splattered all over the place. But that alone does not a horror movie make. It just goes to show that some people really view the horror genre as the dumping grounds for the worst that cinema has to offer, and it's really a shame.

Aside for some bang up special effects work and some quality blood splatter, this movie was pointless, boring and tame (even when you consider just how graphic some of it is). These people need to learn that when you make a movie like this, you either go big or go home. Cut someone's salary and up the SFX budget. If your story and acting sucks, might as well pump your money into the only department that is actually getting anything done.

Avoid this movie like you broke the law and are hiding from the cops.

    Let this film in

Wasn't expecting much but hell this film turned out to be quit a ride. The story isn't really exceptional, twin sister 'lives' in the body of her sister and tries to get out, but it's told in a rather exciting way. Vivid colors, good editing, nice soundtrack: for those who loves their horror films to be a visual trip: this one is a feast. But also the story, a kind of schizophrenic Doctor Jekyl and Mister Hide history, is good enough to keep this film rolling. A good and inventive horror film, as it should be.

    Vanishing Twin Syndrome

This film starts off with a hooker having sex with various clients, including a rape Then she is seen pregnant, stabbing herself to death in the stomach. Move on 23 years and her daughter Helen is experiencing horrific visions, plus much physical horror. Canada does have a history of body horror and this is no exception: spewing long, black hair, self mutilation, pulling skin off. Etc. Very graphic. Japanese horror is also very evident in the form of a ghastly female with long, dark hair. If you like graphic horror then this does not disappoint. The only things that I didn't like were that the two female lead characters looked too similar, and the ending was slightly poor. Sadly the latter is quite common with 21st century horror movies.

    Way out

Some horror movies can easily be declared as way too predictable and cliché. This one for example, where anyone watching is way ahead (no pun intended) of our main character. We know what is going on, even without much of the backstory. It hurts (yes the viewer too, but in a different way) just watching some things develop.

On the other hand, this has some really neat visual things up its sleeve and if you like horror, it does feed that lust and hunger you may feel inside. Not the best movie around or at Frightfest where I watched it, but not the worst one either. Just go with the flow, breathe and push ... well you know what I mean ...

    It's alright

I wasn't expecting much given some of the reviews on here but this is a pretty entertaining film.

Yes it's not original. Yeah it reuses a load of ideas and I felt like i had seen this before but there's a bit of body horror, a bit of gore and a few jump scares.

Not the greatest horror film ever made but no way near as bad as some of the reviews. Worth watching.

      Helen: I'm not.

Helen 2: Then what are we doing here?

      Helen: This is the end.

      Helen 2: For you.

      Helen: For both of us.

Helen 2: She was a whore.

      Helen: Stop!

Helen 2: She tried to kill me, but I hid, inside you. I kept you alive. All these years, with you, with your shit-stained waste of a life.

      Helen: You're dead.
