Jomon's Gospels

A good movie which can be watched with all the family members. No extra spice added for commercial gains. Good star cast and the Director has extracted good work from each and every star. In between a couple of shots are too long and a bit dragging. But this can be overlooked owing to the requirement for a lengthier scenes for the narration of the story.

Both the heroines look fresh. Innocent as usual has done good a good job. Mukesh fits the role fro his age.

Some scenes are really touching - depicting the true love and affection between father and son which can not be measured with money.

Also the movie gives a message on anti- smoking.

My rating- 2.5/5 (Disappointing)

Positives- 1.)Dulquer,Anupama,Innocent,Mukesh and Aishwarya- (3.3/5)- Dulquer's performance was just good and nothing marvelous in it. Anupamas role was short but she did good. Innocent was great and mukesh was just OK. Aishwarya was also good.

2.)Songs - (3.3/5) Negatives- 1.)Direction,screenplay and story- (2/5) Direction got messed up and story had nothing new and it looked copy of jacobinte swargarajyam. Screenplay failed to give seriousness in required areas. Plot had less novel elements to the credit and this is one of the main drawbacks. And no logic in some areas and disturbed the experience.

2.)Shot in thrissur but none of the main actors had thrissur slang while delivering dialogues Overall- Its a clichéd movie and really disappointment me. I heard in recent interview of director that director forgot to say cut while seeing dulquer's emotional performance but i didn't see any such scene like that. Overall just watch it for dulquer and nothing new in this movie and it may disappoint some audience.

Jomonte Suvisheshangal is just a scaled down version of Jacobinte Swargarajayam. If you have already seen Jacob this movie will be a let down for you other than for the few comedy scenes. The only reason to watch this movie is because it is a completely painless family entertainer with decent jokes. There are definitely many sathyan anthikkad elements add to the movie which makes us more disappointed because it reminds us movie like nadodikattu and ghandinagar 2nd street. DQ is that same young handsome romantic youth that we repeatedly see him as. Mukesh is definitely excels when it comes to act as he always has. Anupama does not really have anything much to do. This is nothing more than an entertaining 2 and half hours.

What I like about Sathyan Anthikad directed movies is that you're guaranteed clean entertainment. Jomonte Suvisheshangal is another feel good, family movie from his stable but I miss the touch he'd during the 1990s. Maybe his writers has changed over the years, I'm not sure what has happened but his movies these days miss the charm and spontaneity of his older works from the 90's era. Also, this movie seem quite inspired by last year's release Jacobinte Swargarajyam which has a similar theme.

Ultimately I think what saves this movie from being an average flick is the humor especially from actors like Innocent. The performances from the cast are good. Dulquer Salmaan as the lead does very well(dance, comedy, emotions) but this man is capable of much more. He's ably supported by Mukesh as his father. Aishwarya Rajesh as the leading lady is very good. Anupama Parameshwaran makes a nice impact in a shorter role as Dulquer's love in the initial scenes. Jacob Gregory as Dulquer's business partner provides good comic relief like Innocent in the movie.

The songs are also pleasant to hear.

The final scene has a big influence on your overall opinion of the movie and in this movie, it fell short of my expectation. It ends on a positive note but it felt ordinary and predictable.

To sum up, I can say this movie is somewhere between excellence and mediocre. Although I frankly expected more from a Sathyan Anthikad direction, it has many touching & funny moments and like I said earlier, if what you seek is clean family entertainment, go for it.

This movie should have been released in 2005 to 2007 that was their screen play like and old movie, other wise movie had good plot and twists and such good felt movie but didn't relate with 2017 that's all. First half so slow with so many lags mostly about hero's character and his lavishness on giving away the money. And the second half was bit good all the hardwork of the character and emotional scenes of the family took the movie to the next stage with some twist and came back to their level in the society and how the people are reacting with levels in society was intriguing like when every billionaire has their ups and down they shouldn't leave hope must fight back.
