    A bit of a bore

Why does this show have to go back to famous moments in time.

The original Quantum Leap didn't lower itself to doing this until its later series when it ran out of ideas.

I do enjoy the show as a whole despite watching most of series 1 of Quantum Leap before going back to this.

As a British viewer, I don't know a great deal about the history of the United States Of America and I don't think that these stories will educate me much more than that which I already know.

I can see that thd shots of Frank Sinatra are mainly from a distance of from behind so assume they either didn't know what he looked like or couldn't get someone that looked like him.

    Almost great, but not quite!

I loved the realistic setting in the Sands hotel, and hearing the vocals of Sinatra and Martin were terrific. The costumes looked time-appropriate, as did the vehicles. There was one historical mistake. When shortly after landing near Vegas, it was stated that the atomic tests were being run by the U.S. Dept. Of Energy. The problem is that this dept. wasn't created until 1977. I love the settings of the show so far, and the concept of time travel is fascinating. In this episode, the focus on Judith Campbell was an interesting angle. The way that the writers have tackled significant historical events with the premise of the show (the inability to alter history) has been really interesting. The three main characters have been very good so far, and I look forward to future episodes.

The Special effects on this episode is classy.

Watching this episode I started to examine on which LUT was used while I am using them while my techniques are classified. I couldn't tell Abigail Spencer.

The attire of all four characters fit well on them in that era. Elena Satine who's name is familiar did really well as the mistress of JFK before the Cuban missile crises and his assassination in Dallas, Texas. There's a story behind that scene if her co-star remembers that story.

Like the scene where the countdown started with the atomic bomb in Nevada. The scene looked like it was recolored from a black and white film strip.

    • Trivia
Though they had divorced by the time she met John F. Kennedy, Judith Campbell Exner, the historical figure played by Elena Satine, was married to actor William Campbell. William Campbell is a recognizable face to Star Trek (1966) fans as the Q-like being Trelane in Season 1's The Squire of Gothos (1967) and Klingon captain Koloth in Season 2's The Trouble with Tribbles (1967).
    • Goofs
The Christy pit, i.e. the plutonium core stolen from the weapons test site, would no longer be usable after being buried in the ground for 55 years due to the short half-life (138.376 days) of the polonium in the nuclear initiator.

In order for nuclear fission to take place, the bomb needs a neutron source and a Christy pit has, in its center, a beryllium/polonium initiator that starts the fission reaction after the core is compressed by an implosion that forces the plutonium to a super-critical state. Without an initiator, the pit would be useless - and, by the same token, an expired pit would also be useless, due to the polonium decaying to the point where it could not produce a sufficient injection of neutrons.

Wyatt Logan: Security's pretty tight. I don't know how we're gonna get into the show with no tickets, which are sold out.

Lucy Preston: Why don't we call in a bomb threat? They'll shut it down. Clear out JFK.

[spotting two black hotel employees, Rufus leaves and returns]

Wyatt Logan: For once, I know where the son of a bitch is gonna be. I'm taking Flynn out at the show tonight.

Lucy Preston: Okay, so how do you plan on keeping the president and a dozen other celebrities safe?

Wyatt Logan: Saving history is your job. Mine is Flynn.

Lucy Preston: What, so you just get to make this call? No debate?

Wyatt Logan: No, there's no debate.

Rufus Carlin: Guys, I got uniforms. We can get in.

Wyatt Logan: What? How did you...?

Rufus Carlin: 'Cause in '62, I'm pretty much invisible. It's my superpower.

Lucy Preston: [holding up what looks like a negligee] Really? You couldn't have found me a thong?

      Rufus Carlin: It's a cigarette girl's uniform. Hey, I didn't invent Vegas.

Lucy Preston: Well, go back and invent me a waitress uniform.

      Rufus Carlin: Got it.
