Great movie based on real history
This was one of great movies that is based on real historical event in imjin war. Loved the great act that present conflicts, and growth of the main charactor, prince of choseon. The scenes are beautifully presented in Korean mountains. Soldiers of the lowest status who serves illigally for money instead of those who are required to serve mandatory duty, were fighting both the king's assasins and Japanese invaders.
Amazing
I don't know why this movie not quite famous. For me the story is quite good, and they bring us the amazing scenery. Sometimes it will remind me when they had long journey and war in the castle just like in Lord of The Ring movie.
Excellent Shakespearan in scope
Reminiscent of Kurosawa, Peckinpah and early Walter Hill, Warriors of the Dawn is very satisfying. Terrific action, lush cinematography and decent archetypal performances. While I did not grasp all the nuances of the Korean history (or the fictional version thereof)the two hours zipped by.
A Forrest Fire
The film tells the time-honored story of courage, unity, and honor overcoming difficult obstacles. It is a slow-burner, however as the story progressed, so did the action and suspense. It is difficult not to be drawn into the various character conflicts, as well as on-screen action sequences and scenery.
