Scum's wish
Another romance anime - though this one branches differently into other spectrums of the concept of love, focusing more on unreciprocated love than conventional love. The main character of this series, Hanabi, is in love with her "brother," who isn't actually related to her by blood, only figuratively. He doesn't share her feelings, instead becoming part of a sort of love square between himself, Hanabi, a female teacher, and Mugi, who likes that same teacher.
Multiple times throughout the series, there are very intimate moments between characters who have experienced too much sexual contact, and others who have experienced none at all, further exploring what it feels like to depend on something - whether it's love, emotional support, physical touch, or anything else.
What I would say is the biggest flaw with this anime is the ending, which feels shallow and a little hollow. Even though it feels real and like something that could happen, Hanabi and Mugi's decision feels forced and unnatural. That being said, the anime is still a good one - just not a traditional love story, let alone a fluffy romance. This one is darker than usual, especially for anime.
If you like characters and scenarios that could actually happen in real life, with real emotions beyond base-level jealousy, give this one a try.

Unrequited love.
Honestly, I don't know how to feel about this anime. There were parts that I liked and understood, but there were parts where I cringed hard. Some of the actions of the main characters were so unbelievably twisted, especially Akane's, that it annoyed me so much. I think that the anime showed to many sexual activities. I get that some of it were for the story, but it seemed too much. I liked that it showed the different sides of people - what each of them would do when they experience unrequited love. Loneliness is one of the main themes of this - how coping with loneliness sometimes makes you do stupid decisions. I did not love any of the characters because they all did wrong things (except for Narumi), but I understand where they came from. Their actions are much more realistic, but more on the darker side.
On the other hand, I liked the animation. It was beautifully drawn and pleasing to the eyes. The sceneries looked so realistic.
Overall, I liked the animation and that it showed different sides of people, but I think that it's not for everybody, especially the younger audience. It had many adult contents, and most of them were too much. If you can see past the adult contents though, it can show you a much more realistic view on life on how being alone can negatively affect you.

Not your regular romantic anime.
I get it why this show has got low ratings. Maybe It's not for everyone, maybe it's not for new anime watchers, but I damn liked it. It is definitely not your fan service anime. I love the deepness and how dark and twisted it gets at times. Dives into toxic and dark side of human psychology. Definitely not boring like people have mentioned, I was completely hooked up and binge watched.
Unique story line for a school romance anime
This anime is a breath of fresh air when it comes to high-school romance anime. The story is twisted and dark but the ending was good. All the characters were different, with beautiful backstory. This anime is for a more mature audience. I honestly think, this anime is highly underrated. Definitely worth a watch!!
