Immortal Egypt

Found this a riveting series. The presenter is engaging and knowledgeable, and along with great camerawork and sound, brings the subject to life. Like most people, I had a vague idea of ancient Egypt, of Pyramids, mummies and Pharaohs, but realized after watching this how rich and nuanced the 3000+ year historical span is, with multiple invasions, reconstructions, and assimilations. Highly recommended.

(In response to another comment: Professor Fletcher is dressed to look appropriate in the local culture, you can see that other female researchers she meets are similarly fully covered.)

This is a BBC 4-part documentary mini-series of the ancient history of Egypt. Joann Fletcher is the presenter. This is solid history. It is presented well and in a simple straight-forward way. It is easy to understand. There is good information. I'm not very knowledgeable. I enjoy the surprising takes on King Tut. Fletcher's unkept hair kinda fits her obsessive nature. All of it works very well.

C'mon Dr. Are you telling me that you think the Egyptians built the Pyramids? Just tell the truth, you know damn well that the Anunnaki built them. Stop lying please!!!

The content is decent and you gain a good insight into history and people of Egypt. The presenter, however, is terrible and insincere. She's tries to be overly dramatic and fails miserably.

Joan Fletcher's hosting & narration in these Timeline series are the main reason I watch these. Her spin and impeccable talent in taking the viewer to the era of the Kings and Queens of Egypt are captivating. I love hearing her talk, and also admire her vast knowledge.
