Strong episode with some great scenes in the Soviet Union

Tuan goes walkabout and makes the KGB suspicious.

This is a strong episode that increases the tension slightly from the last few more reflective character focussed episodes and includes a number of quite memorable scenes.

The story feels like it's starting to set the scene for the overarching plot to move on and it throws in a few unexpected moments for good measure. Parent-Child relationships are at the heart of many scenes and there are some good parallels between characters.

One of my favourite scenes is the proposal Henry makes to his parents, which is cleverly introduced to imply the conversation might be about a completely different subject. For me though, easily best scene in the episode is the visit one character pays to another in Moscow. It is such a tense and awkward sequence it's almost painful.

The episode contains excellent visuals as always. Some of the production in the Russian scenes is so well designed it works perfectly for the cold, punishing, decaying system the characters reside within.

All performances are excellent with Boris Krutonog, Frank Langella, Costa Ronin and one guest star in particular standing out.

Philip Jennings: It's... It's like an Ivy League college.

Elizabeth Jennings: It's like a country club.

Philip Jennings: It's like a fancy orphanage. If you told me when I was a kid that I'd live in a house like this...

Elizabeth Jennings: The thing is... he has been working hard. We have to let him grow up.

Philip Jennings: He doesn't have to go away to grow up.

Elizabeth Jennings: It might be good for him.

Philip Jennings: He's doing fine here. Look at his grades. I mean, a place like this? You think he's gonna keep wanting to wear a coat and tie to dinner every night? I mean, I'm glad he's doing so well at school, but he's not the kind of kid...
