It raises important questions, especially about parenting.

"Mamma"/"Mother" is a short film. The story takes place in Norway on a special day, namely New Year´s Eve. Amanda is a very young woman. She lives with her daughter and mother. Both Amanda and her mother Tove were young when they became mothers.

Both Tove and Amanda wants to go out, socialize and celebrate New Year´s Eve. But Tove says to Amanda that she needs to stay at home. Amanda becomes angry. She isn´t particularly interested in taking care of her little daughter. But what can she do now?

Yes, I liked this short film. I think that it raises important questions, especially about parenting. What should a good parent do? How much freedom should a parent have? How much would you pay to get freedom? Or even a little taste of freedom? Who or what decides when things need to change?

I missed information about Amanda´s father. And yes, I miss the same information about Lana. Those answers could have given me a deeper understanding. But all in all, I don´t regret watching this short film.
