That's a real corpse you're seeing when you get game over.....

Yes, really. It's been confirmed that the body is of a civilian killed during the Bosnian war on June 8, 1992. The developer literally took a picture of his tv screen and used it in the game. I wish I was kidding.....

Also theories suggest that during the opening story the background shows a picture of holocaust victims. I'm not certain of this, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case too.

This is a bad game developed in very VERY bad taste. Just watch AVGN's video on this game, or other Youtubers talk about it and its disturbing nature. Don't bother trying to find it or play it though....

One of the greatest moments in the history of the video game industry.

It should not come as a surprise to anyone that I am scoring this game a 10/10, I have truly never played a game like it before.

I've seen arguments suggesting that this is the best shooting game of all time, or perhaps the best console game of all time and I would have to agree with them. There just simply aren't any games I can think of off the top of my head that strike me as masterpieces the same way Hong Kong 97 does. This is a revolutionary moment in gaming and I can't think of any words to describe my experiences playing it. End of story.

    Oh my God!

My god, what a horrible game, this game is extremely generic, the images are ugly and disgusting, the enemies are images of very bad quality and their "animation" is themselves, they are the only ones that on a different side result in a lazy animation, this game is a shame, the Game Over screen, who was the idiot who decided to put that game over screen my god !, bad and disgusting game

    Ok

I have played the game and it is fun, aside from the game over screen. The only problem I have with this game is that every time you die, you have to go back to the beginning of the game.

I've never played such a bad game

The graphics are extremely crude (even games at that time were very crude, but this one is really bad). Did the people who made this game consider the feelings of the players? It feels like something that cannot be made by humans! And I read other reviews, this game even made the civilians who died in the war into the ending, this is really outrageous! It's disgusting, the people who made this game are disgusting, and the game is even more disgusting!

    • Trivia
The game is infamous for its game over screen, which features an actual dead body. Based on the picture's date (8/6/1992), the body was speculated to be that of Polish boxer Leszek Blazynski (committed suicide on August 6, 1992), Palestine activist Atef Bseiso, or Egyptian author Farag Foda (both assassinated on June 8, 1992). It wasn't until 2019 that the picture was confirmed to be a still frame from the Japanese mondo film New Death File III. The body is of an unidentified civilian killed in 1992 during the Bosnian War, and appears at the 28:55 mark of the film.
