I really love this show! It's refreshing and charming. I like all of three Alex's - especially older Alex! The dialogue is believable and the story is engaging. I found myself really rooting for all the Alex's and I'm excited to see how things turn out for him! Alex's daughter (both young girl and young woman) are terrific! Thanks for a delightful show! Keep it going!
This TV is much better than I expected it to be. The 1991 time period is certainly the most interesting and well-done in my opinion, but the middle aged and aging Alex both have much to add to the story as well. The story is refreshing and true to life as there are certainly disheartening moments in Alex's life, but there is always a shred of hope in any situation. I also love the fact that they didn't fall for the stepfather trope, and that Alex and him have a beautiful relationship. The standout is certainly Jack Dylan Grazer as Alex and I hope we can see him in more in the future!
The way in which the story is told is unique and a welcome respite from TV shows that move at a frenetic pace, i.e. Modern Family, American Housewife. Not sure how long the "originality" of the show will keep my interest, but John Larroquette is always good to watch. The story has heart and it will be interesting to see where it goes. My only beef is that, in stage 3 of the character's life, Larroquette's middle school crush is played by Sharon Lawrence who is some 16 years younger, and looks it. Not very plausible. Perhaps I will have something to actually look forward to on TV.
I watched a lot of TV series in this genre, but this is just exceptional. Every time i watch one of the episodes i feel different but all good feelings as if this was made to fill people with only good feelings and the way that its plot has been created shows us clearly that it is a work of masters. It is an awesome TV series and you can watch it alone or with someone or with your family. At the end of each episode you will see things differently and you will learn to never take anything for granted!
It is so hard to find anything that we can watch as a family but we just love this show. It's a feel good show for sure but not in a fake way. Even my husband (who watches very little TV), likes this show. I hope the network gives it a chance. With everything going on in the world, we need shows like this. Jack Dylan Grazer is HILARIOUS as the younger Alex.
