It could have been good
If...there was a fewer coincidences in the story.
It's far too unrealistic for this kind of movie.
First of all, l wouldn't call this a thriller because there's no thrill.
The 3 main actors were good but the director was not able to find a proper rythm.
That's definetely the main criticism.
You spend a good time thinking when is it going to start?
And then, when something happens, it seems that it is too slow again.
It's a rythm issue.
I'm used to Nordic movies but...this one hasn't find the magic formula to catch you.
Of course, it was quite annoying to see the microphone soooo many times.
Also the film takes place in Finland so do not expect a Swedish story, there's a good mix of Finish and English.
The music is not good in my opinion, a bit too dramatic and not suitable, it looks cheap
So, it's difficult to enjoy this movie, i stopped watching 2-3 times but i eventually went until the end which wasn't that easy.
Pity though.

Very Scandinavian movie, good movie.
Why is it call East of Sweden and not West of Finland?
No good deed goes unpunished
Hard to write a review about this without spoilers, but it's the kind of movie that people won't see without knowing something while not having the plot ruined.
I thought it was going to be a reworking of a little known movie where one of a sleeper compartment had died and the other passengers considered concealing it.
But it moved on from there and became a tale of people in difficult circumstances but still trying to help others.
None of the characters are especially gregarious or bubbly, but we quickly get to understand why. They do the best they can in their respective circumstances and what they manage is still pretty good, considering.
Worth watching and wondering what you'd do.

Poor cinematography insult to viewers
The poor cinematography in the movie is evident in the scene where Laura Birn and the 'Jere' character are first training self defence. In that scene, the whole long ass microphone boom is hovering above the characters, very visibly. Furthermore, it shows up even in the top corner of the close up shots, like some bloody dildo, essentially touching the heads of the actors. This is an insult to the viewers - did the editors not watch through the film EVEN ONCE?
If it had been a tiny spot in the top corner once, as sometimes occurs, I could live with it. As a viewer, you can kind of convince yourself it's something else. However, seeing that whole mike boom for a good 10 seconds pissed me off so much, I lost interest in the film. I feel it is an embarrassment to Finnish cinema and an insult to viewers.
