    Terrible

This episode was the worst of all. The tech part was so disappointment and weak. And the crap with taking down the Internet was so funny. As a men working in the IT sphere I feel very offended. Maybe the writers are thinking the audience is so stupid so they don't take attention on this absurd plot? For now I think that the writers are just ran out of ideas. So I don't think that this season will be as good as the 5th.

Best of Season 6 So Far

Despite a lot of promotion leading me to believe this was going to be a Black Siren focused episode, I was happy to see that wasn't the case at all. Instead, what we got was a focus on Felicity Smoak and her relationship with Oliver. I loved how they essentially switched places, with him in her shoes and vice versa. It really strengthened and solidified their relationship which is so important going forward.

We got to see more of the new Team Arrow dynamic and it felt like Diggle was in better command this week than he was last week. While I miss Oliver in the hood, Dig isn't doing bad but I am concerned for him, personally. Keeping secrets from the team isn't a great plan.

Would have liked to see more of Rene and Dinah this week, but what we got was pretty great so I'm not too upset. The focus wasn't on them this week, so it made sense for them to be more in the background.

Absolutely adored the introduction of Cayden James. I've been anticipating Michael Emerson on the show since he was announced back at SDCC and he did not disappoint in "Reversal". The moment I heard his voice, I had goosebumps. He does quietly menacing so very well and I really can't wait to see what he does with the character. I can see that he has a long game in mind, and I'm really interested to see what it is and what his motivations are.

The humor was great, the drama, the action ... this was a solid episode that I truly enjoyed and I've watched it several more times (on the CW app of course, gotta give them those streaming views!) since, which I can't say for every episode of this show. Season 5 was pretty great, season 6 looks to be topping that. Can't wait to see what happens next. ;)

Why Go Back to This Story Line?

There are always going to be episodes of Arrow that are frustrating. I'm sure this will not be the last time, however, I honestly thought we would be done with episodes with contrived hacking plots where there's forced conflicts between characters. After a nice return to the Olicity relationship last week, we got a pointless and repetitive conflict between the two this week as Felicity ended up in the middle of a save-the-world-by-hacking scenario. Sound familiar? Of course it does.

I never cared for Alena and Helix, I'm not sure anybody was. So as soon as Alena appeared on screen I just sighed and began to tune out of any moment in which she participated in. It's not that I'm opposed to a situation where Felicity has something more to do than be Overwatch, but why go back to the same old dumb story line which resulted in the absolute absurd "Team Arrow vs Team Felicity" episode last year. But unfortunately, we saw the return of that Felicity.

This led to a pathetically forced Olicity argument where Ollie was yelled at for saving her in the field. It's these moments which I seriously question why the show goes the Olicity route altogether. Why not stay true to what made those moments special last week, a real relationship that is written with care.

I mean I guess it was neat to see Michael Emerson in a prominent role in the show, since he's a well-respected actor. But even him and Black Siren didn't even seem to have a cool bond. I'm just kind of tired of the whole Black Siren thing to be honest anyway. This also confirms the fact that the person who save Siren from Lian Yu was not Richard Dragon, instead just another global hacker.

In all, this episode was a retread of the really bad season 4/midway through season 5 episodes that we had. Lacking creativity and cohesiveness, "Reversal" is by far the worst episode of season 6.

    • Quotes

Felicity Smoak: Well, William did an excellent job picking out your tie.

Oliver Queen: Yeah. He was very excited. He wanted to come to dinner. I told him Raisa was his date tonight.

Felicity Smoak: Oh. Well, she's a lucky woman.

Oliver Queen: Has it, um, really been three years since the first time we did this?

Felicity Smoak: Yeah. Let's just hope that this date goes better than that one.

Oliver Queen: I think it will.

      Felicity Smoak: Don't jinx it.

Oliver Queen: Masked gunmen could come through the door, and it would have been better than our first dinner.

Felicity Smoak: Well, only because we were not being blown up.
