I don't get why this show was cancelled. I really loved it. I started watching 'The Goldbergs' after watching 'Schooled' and I just don't get why people think 'Goldbergs' is so much better. Every episode of 'Schooled' had me laughing the entire time... 'Goldbergs' has it's moments but I don't find it all that hilarious. I'm hoping some streaming service picks it up but it's doubtful.

Loves this show!!! Always enjoyed watching after the Goldbergs!! Sucks that it was cancelled!! With all of the garbage on tv there will be a void!!!
I was a huge fan of the Goldbergs for a while. I thought it started lacking and that they were running out of ideas. I think that the episode of Goldbergs right before this was one of the best episodes. I liked this too. The pilot was very funny and full of heart. I loved this and am excited to see future episodes. The characters especially coach are great. They can explore many new ideas and I think can go on for as long as the Goldbergs.
It's 1990 something in this spin-off of The Goldbergs. Lainey Lewis (AJ Michalka) returns to William Penn Academy after failing to make it in the music world. Principal Glascott (Tim Meadows) gives her a job as the music teacher with a push from Beverly Goldberg. Coach Mellor (Bryan Callen) is still the PE teacher. C.B. is the cute try-hard teacher.
This is a solid single gal sitcom or at least it should be. There is a central issue with the single part, Lainey's relationship with Barry Goldberg. It complicates the show and the show's central relationship of Lainey with C.B. It muddies the waters in that Goldbergs fans love the Barry-Lainey coupling. It's a beauty and the beast story, and we would hope for them to live happily ever after. In the two shows, they do have their ups and downs. Outside of that, the show has most of the ingredients. Coach Mellor continues to be a great side character and mentor. Tim Meadows is a comedy veteran and I like Michalka as the lead. She has great comedic instincts and timing. She does need a best girlfriend on the show. Wilma does join the show in the second season and she eventually gets there but it's a long trip to get there. I do wonder if a Barry-Lainey show could have worked.

I love how 99% of the show takes place at the school, and plots don't get too convoluted. There aren't too many main characters to gum up the show either. It's funny, family-friendly, non-preachy, and of a good nature. TV needs more shows like this and fewer shows about people who are jerks.

- TriviaOriginally a backdoor pilot on The Goldbergs as "The Goldbergs: 1990-Something (2018)." The episode centered around the lives of single mother Lucy Somers (Nia Long) and her daughters Felicia (Rachel Crow) and Gigi (Summer Parker), one of whom was the grown-up narrator (Octavia Spencer). ABC picked up the series, titled Schooled (2019), and retooled it to center around The Goldbergs character Lainey Lewis (AJ Michalka). Schooled (2019) follows her career as a teacher at her former high school, with Felicia Somers (Crow) as one of her students and Lainey as the narrator.
- GoofsMany misplacings of '90s cultural items throughout the series are intentionally done by the show's creator, Adam F Goldberg. (i.e. modern day clothing in the '90s.)
